Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director) continues its Uptown Series with the world premiere of The Talls, written by Anna Kerrigan and directed by Carolyn Cantor. Ms. Kerrigan's film Five Days Gone recently premiered at the Brooklyn Film Festival. The Talls will feature Gerard Canonico (Spring Awakening), Timothee Chalamet (Burning Blue), Shannon Esper (Cherry Orchard), Lauren Holmes, Michael Oberholtzer (Incident at Vichy & Raft of The Medusa), Peter Rini (Proposals) and Christa Scott-Reed (The Pitman Painters). Previews begin on August 1st and opening night is Monday, August 15th.

Evan Cabnet to Direct OUTSIDE PEOPLE at the Vineyard

Vineyard Theatre and Naked Angels will co-produce the world-premiere of Zayd Dohrn's play OUTSIDE PEOPLE, directed by Evan Cabnet at The Vineyard (108 East 15th Street), which will begin performances in December, 2011 and open in January 2012, it has been announced by Douglas Aibel, Artistic Director of Vineyard Theatre and Andy Donald, Artistic Director of Naked Angels. It is the first co-production for the two award-winning off-Broadway companies.

Directed by Davis McCallum, Sex Lives of Our Parents will feature Teddy Bergmann (Peter and the Starcatcher), Lisa Emery (Far East), Daniel Jenkins (Mary Poppins), Virginia Kull (Dividing the Estate), Ben Rappaport (NBC's 'Outsourced') and Mark Zeisler (Second Stage Theatre's Eurydice). Alley Theatre Board President Rob Reedy, the Managing Partner of Porter Hedges LLP, announced at today's Annual Board Meeting that Artistic Director Gregory Boyd and Managing Director Dean R. Gladden signed new five-year contracts with the Alley beginning fiscal year 2011-2012 and continuing through fiscal year 2015-2016.

Donna Hanover and Colman Domingo hosted a luncheon yesterday, June 9 at the National Arts Club. A benefit for the Vineyard Theatre's artistic and education programs, playwright Branden Jacobs Jenkins was presented with the Vineyard Theatre's 4th annual Paula Vogel Playwriting Award, given each year to a gifted emerging playwright.
