With A Little Bit of Lerner combined an outstanding group of performers with the BBC Concert Orchestra to present an exciting variety of many of Lerner's well-known and lesser-known songs at Southbank Centre's Royal Festival Hall. It celebrated the centenary of great American lyricist Alan Jay Lerner's birth in 1918.

They performed a lovely mix of both classic and newer Disney songs, from shows like Moana and Frozen, along with some tunes from other animated movies like Anastasia and The Prince of Egypt. It seemed like they managed to find the nine performers in the West End who seem like actual fairy tale princesses and princes.

Jason Robert Brown's concert at the London Palladium was a wonderful mix of familiar and new songs sung by Brown himself, Betsy Wolfe, Norm Lewis, and Rachel Tucker. Brown juggled multiple hats as singer, piano player, and at times conductor, but proved that storytelling is what he truly does best. He managed to create an almost intimate friendly atmosphere as he joked and talked to the crowd.

Mousetrap Theatre Projects (MTP) celebrated its 21st Anniversary on Sunday night with a star-studded Gala at the Prince of Wales Theatre hosted by Christopher Biggins and Harriet Thorpe with performances from cast members of The Lion King, Mamma Mia!, Kiss Me Kate, The Royal Ballet and Dreamgirls. The show also featured star turns from Beau Dermott, Patricia Hodge, Tyrone Huntley, Samantha Spiro, David Suchet, Rachel Tucker and Michael Xavier. The show was followed by an after party at Cafe de Paris with performances from Janie Dee and Clive Rowe.

Marisha Wallace delivered a concert just like her new album, Soul Holiday: honest, jazzy, and vocally stunning. Early in the night, she confided to the crowd, I'm obsessed with Christmas and it certainly shows. Singing a combination of songs from the album and extra Christmas carols along with a few musical theatre ballads, Marisha had the audience completely enthralled within just a few numbers.
We're just about to start the third week of rehearsal for our in-house Christmas show Miracle on 34th Street: A Live Musical Radio Play. This marks the sixth European premiere we have staged here at the Bridge House Theatre in Penge. What really distinguishes this show from the others is that we're only the second company to perform it in the world, so it's particularly exciting to be producing seasonal work that's so new.
