Manhattan Theatre Club's world premiere of REGRETS, the new play by Matt Charman, directed by Carolyn Cantor will open Tuesday, March 27 at MTC at New York City Center - Stage I (131 West 55th Street). REGRETS stars Alexis Bledel ('Gilmore Girls'), Curt Bouril ('Boardwalk Empire'), Ansel Elgort (Off-Broadway debut), Brian Hutchison(MTC's From Up Here), Tony Award winner Adriane Lenox (MTC's Doubt), Lucas Caleb Rooney (Orphan's Home Cycle), and Richard Topol (The Normal Heart). Last night, March 12, Robert Redford hosted the first-ever New York benefit celebrating The Sundance Institute Theatre Program at The Bowery Hotel. Participants included Sundance Institute Theatre Program alumni Denis O'Hare (Performance of An Iliad, at New York Theatre Workshop), Lisa Peterson Scott Frankel, Jeanine Tesori, Georgi James and Christine Ebersole, who recreated 'Little Edie Beale' from Grey Gardens. MTC's REGRETS Begins Previews Tonight

Manhattan Theatre Club's world premiere of REGRETS, the new play by Matt Charman, directed by Carolyn Cantor begins previews tonight, March 8 at MTC at New York City Center - Stage I (131 West 55th Street). The limited engagement will open Tuesday, March 27.

New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) Artistic Director James C. Nicola and Managing Director William Russo present the New York premiere of An Iliad, by Denis O'Hare and Lisa Peterson, based on Homer's Iliad translated by Robert Fagles, directed by Ms. Peterson. Performances began on Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at NYTW, 79 East 4 Street, between Bowery and Second Avenue. Mr. O'Hare and Stephen Spinella will alternate performances of the play. New York Theatre Workshop's AN ILIAD Opens 3/6 & 7

New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) Artistic Director James C. Nicola and Managing Director William Russo have announced that the New York premiere of An Iliad, by Denis O'Hare and Lisa Peterson, based on Homer's Iliad translated by Robert Fagles, directed by Ms. Peterson, will open this week at NYTW, 79 East 4 Street, between Bowery and Second Avenue. Denis O'Hare and Stephen Spinella alternate performances of the play. Mr. O'Hare opens Tuesday, March 6; Mr. Spinella Wednesday, March 7.

Lincoln Center Theatre to Open Claire Tow Theater with SLOWGIRL

Lincoln Center Theater (under the direction of Andre Bishop, Artistic Director, and Bernard Gersten, Executive Producer) has announced that the Claire Tow Theater, its newest stage at Lincoln Center and the future home to its programming initiative LCT3, will open in June with the LCT3 world premiere production of SLOWGIRL, a new play by Greg Pierce.

Emily Swallow to Lead Guthrie Theatre's CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF

On the heels of the explosive A Streetcar Named Desire, the Guthrie Theater today announced complete casting for Tennessee Williams' drama Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. This Pulitzer Prize-winning classic about a Southern family in crisis receives its second-ever Guthrie staging. Last produced at the Guthrie in 1976 under the artistic leadership of Michael Langham, this production will play from January 14- February 26, 2012, on the Wurtele Thrust Stage. Lisa Peterson (Major Barbara, Oedipus and Mrs. Warren's Profession) will direct.

Swallow will be joined by Twin Cities actor Peter Christian Hansen (Guthrie: Dollhouse, Macbeth, After a Hundred Years) as the indifferent, alcoholic, favorite son Brick.

56th Annual Drama Desk Awards Air on Ovation Network June 4

The Drama Desk Awards ceremony was hosted by Harvey Fierstein on May 23 at the Hammerstein Ballroom in Manhattan Center. This year, for the first time, a 90-minute Highlights Special of the Drama Desk Awards Ceremony will be televised nationally on OVATION, the national cable network dedicated to presenting creative arts programming to national TV audiences. The ceremony will be given two primetime broadcasts plus four other airings between June 4 and June 19, 2011.
