Next Iteration Theater Presents grew out of our desire to share the space of the MATCH during our July Core Ensemble's new work development rental time. We wanted to keep the theater from being dark during the evenings after our long days of work. We decided to offer performers of various genres this spectacular space on these evenings. Join us for one or all of the talent and productions that make up Next Iteration Presents. Tickets are always pay-what-you-can.

The actors are amazing, the set is handsomely appointed, and the lighting design is creative and well executed. It fascinates for a while. But once the finale fizzles from a lapse in logic, GRAND CONCOURSE proves to be an exercise in dramatic frustration.

To say that Houston has an exceptional theatre scene is an understatement. One of my favorite aspects is that there is always something new to see. Last night I had the pleasure of attending Scriptwriters/Houston's 23rd Annual 10X10 Showcase, a production that highlights original plays by local playwrights. Scriptwriters/Houston's annual 10X10 production, in association with Next Stage Press, features ten new plays, each lasting ten minutes in length. A welcome addition to this year's production is the inclusion of eight original monologues. This year's sampling of original works paints an intimate portrait of humanity and ultimately creates a nuanced and unforgettable evening of entertainment.
