Well, actually, The Village Players of Birmingham production of Sweet Charity gives the audience more than a few laughs, it keeps them entertained through entire show. The musical is a treat to watch from the moment it starts to the very last second that Charity steps off stage with its crowd-pleasing numbers and vibrant color schemes that it is one Michigan theatre-goers will truly enjoy and remember for years to come.

St. Dunstan's Theatre Guild of Cranbrook presents Hair: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical, written by James Rado and Gerome Ragni, with music by Galt MacDermot. This 1960s musical remains timely and popular because of its commentary on love, peace, and politics. The story focuses on Berger (Gannon Styles, Northville), Claude (Dan Clair, Canton), and Sheila (Bridget Leary, Bloomfield Hills), along with the rest of the 'tribe' as they attempt to reconcile their desire for personal freedom with the traditional expectations put in place by their parents and society. Hair will be a crowd-favorite with hit songs 'Aquarius,' 'Let the Sunshine,' and 'Hair'.

In this endearing play, writer John Cariani introduces us to the people of northern Maine, their life experiences, their feelings, and their love stories. As the northern lights hover in the sky, the residents of Almost, Maine find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and hilarious ways. The play consists of nine vignettes, all of which take place simultaneously on a snowy mid-winter evening, at a time when the town's denizens are experiencing 'magical moments.' The audience will recognize aspects of their own lives and relationships as the scenes unfold.
