'How I Became A Pirate' New Musical Plays Alliance For The Arts

How I Became a Pirate, based on the bestselling children's book by Melinda Long with illustrations by David Shannon, has been touring Southwest Florida schools since November, and played to packed houses in the Lunchbox Theatre Series this fall. Admission for the Series is $12, and includes the performance, an interactive pirate workshop, and a lunch provided by The Morgan House.

'The Lunchbox Theatre Series got a makeover this season,' said Florida Rep Education Director, Rachael Endrizzi. 'Not only are we performing onstage in the Historic Arcade Theatre, but we have a new lunch partner, The Morgan House - and we've added a whole new component with an interactive workshop that will really enhance each child's theatre experience. These classes allow Florida Rep professionals to share their wealth of experience with those who are eager to learn more about theatre. Areas of study include, but are not limited to: improvisation, theatre games, movement, acting for youth, acting for adults and stage makeup. Specialized classes are also offered for home school families as well as parent organizations and playgroups.
