Barnes & Noble has announced the return of Vinyl Weekend, which will take place July 13 through July 15 at all stores nationwide. To kick off its annual celebration of vinyl records and music, Barnes & Noble has unveiled a huge selection of exclusive vinyl albums, with a special focus on Broadway music throughout the ages, which will be available at all stores, while supplies last.

Christina Milian, Leona Lewis and Zulay Henao Join Season Two of Sony Crackle Original Drama Series THE OATH

Sony Crackle announced today that Grammy-nominated artists Christina Milian and Leona Lewis and actress Zulay Henao ('Meet the Blacks 2') will join the cast of season two of its original drama series 'The Oath,' from executive producer Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson and his G-Unit Film and Television Inc. and creator/executive producer Joe Halpin. Additionally, actor and director Kevin Connolly will guest star and direct multiple episodes for the gritty drama series. Production for season two of 'The Oath' has commenced in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

SOPAC Presents Justin Hayward

Enjoying fifty years at the peak of the music industry, Justin Hayward's voice has been heard the world over, and now he will appear at the South Orange Performing Arts Center on August 19 at 7:30 p.m. He will perform many songs from his 2016 album All The Way, and the concert also features celebrated fingerstyle acoustic guitarist Mike Dawes.

Cape Rep Theatre Presents World Premiere Of THE TUNA GODDESS

Cape Rep Theatre continues its 33rd season with the world premiere of The Tuna Goddess, by well-known Cape Cod actor, Jade Schuyler, June 27 through July 21, Tuesdays through Thursdays at 7 pm, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm, and Sundays at 2 pm; there is no performance on Wednesday, July 4th. Tickets are $28.

Volta Photo Opens At The Art Institute Of Chicago

From April 27 to August 19, 2018, the Art Institute of Chicago presents an exhibition that explores the relationship between commercial studio photography and popular music in the former West African country of Upper Volta. Featuring the photography of Sanle Sory and the music of Volta Jazz, this immersive installation brings the complex culture of Upper Volta to life through more than 100 of Sory's photographs from the 1960s and '70s; objects from Volta Photo such as its signature backdrop, studio lights, and props; digitized music from the era; and 45-rpm record covers. Through this dynamic unification of image and sound, Volta Photo  examines the postcolonial culture of an economically challenged but recently liberated country negotiating its identity on the world stage.

First Nation Composer Jeremy Dutcher Shares New Album on Billboard, LP Out Tomorrow

Jeremy Dutcher is a Toronto-based performer, composer, and classically trained operatic tenor. He is also a member of indigenous community, Tobique First Nation, and will release his debut album, Wolastoqiyik Lintuwakonawa (Our Maliseet Songs), on April 6th, 2018. Today, he shares the exclusive first listen with Billboard, who says, 'is an 11-song fusion of his ancestors' archival recordings and his own classical and pop influences, intended to disrupt the 'bilingual Anglo-centric Canadian music narrative,' adding, 'The 27-year-old -- who is a member of the Tobique First Nations in northwestern New Brunswick, and studied music in Halifax, Nova Scotia -- doesn't believe this music should be 'collecting dust on a museum shelf,' so he took five years to painstakingly put this album together, transcribing Wolastoq songs more than a century-old - once banned from being performed in public due to the Canadian government's discriminatory Indian Act from 1876 - to re-introduce them to the world.'

Toronto-Based Singer/Composer Jeremy Dutcher Is Using His Music To Save His Language

Jeremy Dutcher is a Toronto-based performer, composer,  and classically trained operatic tenor. He is also a member of the Wolastoq First Nation indigenous community and will release his debut album, Wolastoqiyik Lintuwakonaw (Our Maliseets Songs), on April 6th, 2018.  The album is a collection of 'collaborative' compositions that blend Jeremy's ancestors archival recordings with both classic and contemporary influences. The result transcends musical boundaries: dramatic, infused with emotion and reverence for the songs of his home, sweeping piano solos and stunning vocals.

Yep Roc Records and the Southern Folklife Collection at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Libraries announce the release of Doc Watson, Live at Club 47, set for a February 9 release on CD and digital, nearly 55 years to the date of the original recording. The LP release will follow April 27.
