Rising Circle Theater Collective to Present PLAYRISE 2014; Begins 5/20

Four emerging playwrights of color will unveil exciting new works when Rising Circle Theater Collective presents PlayRISE, a reading series of new plays. The collection of new drafts is a culmination of INKtank 2014, a 12-week playwright lab, moderated this season by Migdalia Cruz and Deepa Purohit.

Purple Yam Presents Fundraiser for Award-winning Writer Randy Gener, 3/24

This Fundraising Event in support of the Nathan Award-winning editor/writer/artist Randy Gener will be held at Purple Yam restaurant on 1314 Cortelyou Road in Brooklyn. It will feature a talk by journalist and Columbia University Prof. Sheila Coronel and a comedy skit by SPIT or the Silly People's Improv Theater, Manila's premiere improv group.

LoNyLa Announces Ten Scripts To Be Developed In VELOCITY LAB 2012!

LoNyLa, a network, creative lab and producing organization that links artists globally, announced today that seven plays, two screenplays and one television pilot will be developed in VELOCITY LAB 2012. Director Jake Witlen will announce two more new plays in Berlin today, Sept. 28.

Theater Resources Unlimited, Back Stage and The Players Theater Announce 6/19 Panel

Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) presents its next monthly networking panel, Coloring the Great White Way; Part 2: Where are the Producers of Color?, an expansion of the April panel discussion that will focus on the experience of Latino and Asian American producers. The panel will take place at the Players Theatre, 115 MacDougal Street, NYC. Doors open at 7:00pm for networking and refreshments, panel starts promptly at 7:30pm.

Manhattan Theatre Club has announced that WIT, the Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Margaret Edson, directed by Lynne Meadow will extend at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre. The limited engagement must close after the evening performance on Saturday, March 17.

MTC's WIT to be Featured on The Charlie Rose Show Tonight

Tonight, March 14, WIT director Lynne Meadow and Tony and Emmy Award winner Cynthia Nixon will appear on "The Charlie Rose Show." Meadow and Nixon will speak with Rose about the production currently playing at Manhattan Theatre Club's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street) through Saturday evening, March 17 only.

MTC's WIT Concludes Broadway Run March 17

Manhattan Theatre Club's acclaimed production of WIT the Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Margaret Edson, directed by Lynne Meadow will end its extended engagement at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street) following the Saturday, March 17 evening performance. When it closes, WIT will have played 60 regular performances and 24 preview performances.

Manhattan Theatre Club's Broadway production of WIT will be featured this weekend on "Theater Talk", airing late tonight at 1:30 AM on WNET/Channel 13, and "CBS2 News Sunday", airing Sunday at approximately 8:45 AM on WCBS/Channel 2.
