Playhouse on Park's first Mainstage Series show of 2016 is the award-winning production The Chosen, adapted by Chaim Potok and Aaron Posner. Opening night is January 29.

Jasper in Deadland,a new musical with music by Ryan Scott Oliver and book by Hunter Foster, will be recorded on a cast album and distributed by Sh-K-Boom Records.

Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) announces the three winning shows in the TRU Voices Musicals Series, which will have readings on Mondays January 18 and 25, and February 1, 2016 at 7pm at the Engelman Recital Hall in the Baruch Performing Arts Center, 55 Lexington Ave, NYC.

In what has become an annual ritual, a total of 36 established and emerging composers, lyricists, and librettists will converge on the Goodspeed campus from mid-January through mid-February 2016 to participate in the Johnny Mercer Foundation Writers Colony at Goodspeed Musicals. The writing teams, representing 19 new musicals, will populate the campus, creating a truly exciting environment for discovery and inspiration. Larson-winning, MAC-nominated songwriter Joshua H. Cohen returns to the Duplex with TRUE STORY, Saturday, November 21, 4:30 pm. Cohen dresses down hipsters, hitchhikers, histrionics, and most of all himself, with a baker's dozen of songs inspired by real life, including songbook favorites and brand-new material.

The award-winning VITAL THEATRE COMPANY is pleased to the extention of FLIGHT SCHOOL, THE MUSICAL, a new musical based on the book Flight School by Lita Judge, with a book by Cara Lustik, lyrics by Joshua H. Cohen, music by David Mallamud and directed and choreographed by Wendy Seyb. The production will continue at the Theater at Blessed Sacrament (formerly Arclight Theater Sundays only at 11:00 am, November 14th through December 6th.

BroadwayWorld has confirmed that Chase Brock has boarded the artistic team of Kansas City Repertory Theatre's Sunday in the Park with George as the production's Musical Stager.

The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University, under the leadership of Artistic Director Diane Paulus, began rehearsals today (pictured, left) for the world premiere musical Waitress. Based on the motion picture written by Adrienne Shelly the new musical has a book by Jessie Nelson, music and lyrics by Sara Bareilles, direction by Diane Paulus, and choreography by Chase Brock.

Enjoy Shakespeare under the stars at The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey's Outdoor Stage production of Love's Labour's Lost. The enormously popular summer venue, located on the campus of the College of Saint Elizabeth in Morris Township, will host the show beginning on June 17th and continuing through July 26th.

Classic Stage Company presents William Shakespeare's HAMLET, starring acclaimed actor Peter Sarsgaard as Hamlet, and directed by Austin Pendleton. Previews for HAMLET began on March 27 at CSC (136 East 13th Street) for a limited engagement through May 10. The official press opening is tonight, April 15.

The award-winning CAP21 Theatre Company will open its 2015 season with the first production of a new musical, THE ARTIST & THE SCIENTIST, with book and lyrics by Jenny Stafford, music by Brandon Anderson, and story by Jenny Stafford and Brandon Anderson. It is a love story exploring the conflicting ways in which we each see the world and the fears we have of losing ourselves in other people. THE ARTIST & THE SCIENTIST will play a limited run from tonight, February 4 -28, 2015 at the CAP21 Theatre, 18 West 18th Street, 5th Floor, New York.

On Monday, February 2nd at 9:30pm, performers will gather to perform A-Sides: The Songs of Anna K. Jacobs at the Laurie Beechman Theatre.
