Photo Flash: Inside Rehearsal For Kiln Theatre's APPROACHING EMPTY

Kiln Theatre, Tamasha and Live Theatre today presents the world premiere of Ishy Din's Approaching Empty in a first-time creative collaboration for the three companies. Pooja Ghai directs Kammy Darweish (Mansha), Rina Fatania (Sameena), Karan Gill (Shazad), Nicholas Khan (Raf), Nicholas Prasad (Sully) and Maanuv Thiara (Tany). The production opens at Kiln Theatre on 14 January, with previews from 9 January, and runs until 2 February. Following performances at Kiln Theatre, the production tours to Live Theatre, Newcastle; Tron Theatre, Glasgow; Assembly Roxy, Edinburgh; Derby Theatre; Belgrade Theatre, Coventry; Curve, Leicester; Queen's Theatre, Hornchurch, and Coliseum Theatre, Oldham.

Former Artistic Director Of Theatre Royal Stratford East Kerry Kyriacos Michael Receives Freedom Of The City Of London

Former Artistic Director of Theatre Royal Stratford East, Kerry Kyriacos Michael received The Freedom of the City of London at Guildhall on Friday 20 April. Kerry was nominated for his contribution to the arts and for his collaboration with the Barbican, by Sir Nicholas Kenyon, Managing Director of The Barbican Centre. The Freedom is offered to individuals by the City of London Corporation to celebrate a significant achievement and to pay tribute to their outstanding contribution to London or public life.

Kiln Theatre Announces First Season In The Newly Refurbished Theatre

With Mapping Brent running at venues across the local community, Artistic Director Indhu Rubasingham today announces the opening season at the company's newly refurbished theatre, which sees the Tricycle Theatre relaunch as Kiln Theatre. The new season includes five world premieres, one UK premiere and a major musical revival, with over 10,000 tickets at £12.50 or under.

Theatre Royal Stratford East's Celebrated Pantomime RAPUNZEL To Be Live Streamed at Hospitals

Theatre Royal Stratford East today announces the live-streaming of their acclaimed pantomime Rapunzel to children at Newham University Hospital, St Francis Hospice and Richard House Children's Hospice on 28 December at 2pm. Using the latest digital technology, the theatre will share this year's seasonal treat, Rapunzel written by Trish Cooke and Robert Hyman and directed by Associate Director of Theatre Royal Stratford East, Pooja Ghai. This special project has been made possible thanks to generous support from Galliard Homes and follows the success of last year's production of Sinbad the Sailor which was live-streamed to Newham University Hospital and Richard House Children's Hospice.

Theatre Royal Stratford East's new season opens with Counting Stars by award-winning playwright and newly appointed Writer in Residence Atiha Sen Gupta. The stage will be transformed into a studio format nightclub installation where you sit on the stage for this funny yet heart-breaking tale directed by Associate Director, Pooja Ghai. Doors will open at 715pm for music and a bar on stage to soak up the atmosphere before the show. The experience will start then. Ghai directs Estella Daniels as Sophie and Lanre Malaolu as Abiodun. 2015-16 Perfect Pitch Award for Musical Theatre Writing Winners Announced

Perfect Pitch and Theatre Royal Stratford East are delighted to announce the winners of the 2015/16 Perfect Pitch Award for Musical Theatre Writing. Daniel York and Craig Adams won the £12,000 prize for their piece 'Sinking Water' and the opportunity to collaborate on a new musical in a ceremony held today at St James's Theatre. The winners are now tasked with writing a full draft of a new show in a 12-month period towards a professional staged reading and/or production supported and mentored throughout by Perfect Pitch and Theatre Royal Stratford East.

Theatre Royal Stratford East Announces 2016 Season

Theatre Royal Stratford East announces its programme of productions taking place from February - June 2016 and the 2016/17 pantomime. The year ahead sees the theatre staying true to its commitment to develop and produce new plays and musicals, as well as reviving one of its most successful runs of the last few years. Theatre Royal Stratford East achieved 86% capacity last year, with the most culturally diverse audience in the country.
