The Susan Smith Blackburn Prize, which celebrates its 30th Anniversary this year, will mark the milestone with a special project saluting the accomplishments of female playwrights in Houston - 'Women in Theatre: Houston Voices.'
Polly Stenham's multi award-winning play That Face, which was produced at the Royal Court Theatre to great critical acclaim last year, is to transfer to the Duke of York's Theatre with Lindsay Duncan and Matt Smith who originated the roles of mother and son, Martha and Henry, as well as Catherine Steadman and Julian Wadham.
The Critics' Circle Theatre Awards 2007 were hosted today by its Chairman Charles Spencer, theatre critic of The Daily Telegraph, at the Prince of Wales Theatre, London. Top winners included the new production of 'Hairspray,' Patrick Stewart and Rupert Goold of 'Macbeth,' plus new play 'A Disappearing Number,' and actors Charles Dance, Anne-Marie Duff, Chiwetel Ejiofor.
