Yale Repertory Theatre has announced its 2023–24 season of four plays.

Love + Science, a new play by playwright and scientist David J. Glass, is set to premiere May 26–July 6, 2023, at New York City Center Stage II.

Soho Rep presents the world premiere of multidisciplinary theater-maker and “imaginary historian” Jillian Walker's The Whitney Album, a meditation on the artist's relationship to Whitney Houston's work and personal life, and perceptions of both in the American imagination. The production concludes a 2022-23 Soho Rep season consisting entirely of works commissioned by the organization

The Center for Fiction, a 200-year-old literary nonprofit that has created an immersive home for readers and writers in downtown Brooklyn, and Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for theatre, will co-present Story/Teller Arts: Will Arbery and Chloé Cooper Jones with Leslie Jamison on April 12 at 7pm ET at The Center for Fiction, 15 Lafayette Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11217, and via livestream.

McCarter Theater will welcome audiences to Pearl Cleage's love letter to friendship and the Harlem Renaissance, BLUES FOR AN ALABAMA SKY, on stage in the Berlind Theatre May 6th through the 28th. The play marks the McCarter directorial debut of Associate Artistic Director Nicole A. Watson. 

Just in time for Mother’s Day, The Green Room 42 will present the world premiere concert of R.E.D. Hat Fight Club, with Broadway performers in an utterly ridiculous and overtly queer musical parody.

IAMA Theatre Company and the Los Angeles LGBT Center present the world premiere of a dark comedy developed in IAMA's Under 30 Playwright's Lab. IAMA associate artistic director Rodney To is at the helm of The Bottoming Process by Nicholas Pilapil, running May 18 through June 12 at the Renberg Theatre in the Los Angeles LGBT Center's Lily Tomlin/Jane Wagner Cultural Arts Center. Low-priced previews begin May 13.

The Playwrights Realm will present the 2023 INK’D Festival of New Plays (April 24–27), the annual culmination of their Writing Fellows program.

Since 2005, more than 100 playwrights have had their work fostered through Center Theatre Group's L.A. Writers' Workshop and more are set to join. This new cohort for the L.A. Writers' Workshop includes six local playwrights who will spend a year researching and writing a new work with the feedback of their fellow writers and Center Theatre Group's artistic staff. These playwrights are Amy Berryman, Inda Craig-Galván, Isaac Gómez, Ramiz Monsef, christopher oscar peña, and Jasmine Sharma.
