Cherry Lane Mentor Project Announces its Mentors and Playwrights

Cherry Lane (Angelina Fiordellisi, Founding Artistic Director; Seri Lawrence, Janio Marrero, Producing Artistic Directors) is proud to announce this year's playwrights and mentors for their Obie Award-winning Mentor Project, culminating with fully-staged productions presented at Cherry Lane (38 Commerce St. in NYC) from February 22 to May 6, 2017.  

Sarah DeLappe's THE WOLVES Returns Tonight, Extends Through December Off-Broadway

The encore engagement of The Wolves, Sarah DeLappe's debut play opens tonight at The Duke on 42nd Street, a New 42nd Street project. In response to popular demand, The Playwrights Realm, by arrangement with Scott Rudin and Eli Bush, has extended the encore engagement of the production through December 29.

La MaMa presents Clover, a new experimental theater drama about America's history of violence by Erik Ehn, directed by Glory Kadigan with original music by Maya Solovey and original puppet design & puppetry direction by Jeanette Oi-Suk Yew.  Performances will be staged at the First Floor Theatre at La MaMa, 74a East 4th Street,New York, NY 10003 from December 1-16, 2016. 

Voices Carry: A Celebration of Irish Women Writing at Irish Arts Center 12/6

Irish Arts Center, which projects a dynamic image of Ireland and Irish America for the 21st century, is pleased to present Voices Carry: A Celebration of Women Writing, December 6. Organized by author and playwright Honor Molloy and directed by Kira Simring, the event features Ms. Molloy and actors Gina Costigan, Angel Desai and Orlagh Cassidy in dramatic readings of 20th Century works spanning a variety of forms, including memoir, novels, poetry, drama, and radio. The featured texts-by renowned contemporary authors Anne Enright andEdna O'Brien; playwright Gina Moxley; and late writers including Leland Bardwell, Maeve Brennan, Elizabeth Bowen, Lucy Grealy, Maura Laverty, and Claire McAllister-explore the humor, depth, and resilience of Irish and Irish American women.

MTC's MISS BENNET: CHRISTMAS AT PEMBLERLEY Announces Extension

Marin Theatre Company decks the halls-and stage-this holiday season with Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley,by Playwright in Residence Lauren Gunderson, and  MTC's former Director of New Play Development Margot Melcon. This light-hearted continuance of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice picks up two years after the end of Austen's tale, with the focus this time on middle sister Mary Bennet, now a talented and confident young woman who comes into her own with curiosity and wit while visiting the Darcy household at Pemberley for the winter holiday. 

Iconic Classic Drama A DOLL'S HOUSE to Begin This Winter at the Huntington

The Huntington Theatre Company presents the iconic classic drama A Doll's House, by Henrik Ibsen, adapted by Bryony Lavery, and directed by Boston favorite Melia Bensussen (Awake and Sing!, Luck of the Irish, and Circle Mirror Transformation at the Huntington). Performances run January 6 - February 5, 2017 at the Avenue of the Arts / BU Theatre.

Off-Broadway Encore of All-Female Soccer Play THE WOLVES Starts Tonight

The Playwrights Realm welcomes back The Wolves, Sarah DeLappe's debut play. The most recent addition is Kate Arrington, who will star alongside the original soccer team cast including Susannah Perkins, Lauren Patten (Fun Home), Jenna Dioguardi, Tedra Millan, Sarah Mezzanotte, Brenna Coates, Samia Finnerty, Midori Francis, and Lizzy Jutila.

Cast Announced for Midwest Premiere of THE ASSEMBLED PARTIES

Raven Theatre Associate Artistic Director Cody Estle has announced a "blended family" of new and familiar Raven faces for the company's Midwest premiere of The Assembled Parties, which in 2013 earned a 2013 Tony® Award nomination for Best Play. The play by Richard Greenberg, author of Take Me Out, Three Days of Rain and many other plays, will open on Raven Theatre's East Stage under Estle's direction on Tuesday, January 31, following previews from January 25 - 30, 2017.
