The Shubert Foundation has awarded a record total of $30 million to 533 not-for-profit performing arts organizations across the United States. This marks the 36th consecutive year that the Foundation has increased its giving.

Peninsula Players Theatre, America's oldest professional resident summer theater and Door County's theatrical icon, is proud to announce it has received a $15,000 award from The Shubert Foundation. The Shubert Foundation awarded a record total of $26.8 million to 533 not-for-profit performing arts organizations across the United States. The Shubert Foundation provides grants only to organizations that have established artistic and administrative track records, as well as a pattern of fiscal responsibility.

The Shubert Organization and movie/television/theatre producers Craig Zadan & Neil Meron, fresh off their juggernaut NBC television event 'Jesus Christ Superstar LIVE,' announced today that they have acquired the coveted rights to adapt Some Like It Hot as an all-new musical for the stage from Metro Goldwyn Mayer Studios.

The 13th annual Shubert Foundation/Music Theatre International Broadway Junior Student Finale will take place on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Broadway's Broadhurst Theatre (235 West 44th Street).

The event will be hosted by Kelvin Moon Loh and Vasthy Mompoint, stars from Broadway's new hit, SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS, The Broadway Musical. The Shubert Foundation / MTI Broadway Junior partnership is a groundbreaking musical theatre mentorship program that helps public schools affect school culture change through building sustainable theatre education programs. Hundreds of participating students will share musical numbers from their fully produced school shows at the Finale. For many, their first musical theatre experience performing will be on Broadway.

This high-energy arts and education experience for students is presented by The Shubert Foundation and NYC Department of Education.

Among the Broadway stars scheduled to interact with students over the course of the day on March 19 are Tony Award winner Baayork Lee(choreographer, original cast of A CHORUS LINE), Sasha Hutchings, original cast of HAMILTON and currently in the Broadway revival of MY FAIR LADY, LaGuardia Arts alumnus Lilli Cooper, from the Broadway Musical, SpongeBob SquarePants, and John Cariani from The Band's Visit.

The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts will be partnering with TD Bank for a city-wide book drive to benefit Philadelphia Reads and the School District of Philadelphia. Finding Neverland makes its Philadelphia debut at the Academy of Music from November 21-November 26, and the book drive will be taking place across four Center City TD Bank locations from November 1-November 26.

The Actors Fund Home (155-175 West Hudson Avenue, Englewood, New Jersey), an acclaimed assisted living and skilled nursing care facility for the performing arts and entertainment community, celebrated the opening of The Shubert Pavilion at their facility in Englewood, New Jersey on Friday, October 6, 2017. This afternoon, Broadway's brightest gathered at the Marriott Marquis Times Square to celebrate this years Drama League Awards nominees for Outstanding Play, Outstanding Revival of a Play, Outstanding Musical, Outstanding Revival of a Musical, and the much-coveted Distinguished Performance Award.

The Tony Awards Administration Committee has announced that they will present the 2017 Tony Honors for Excellence in the Theatre to two of the most successful General Managers in the Broadway community - Nina Lannan and Alan Wasser.
