Cast Complete for MCC Theater's 'PlayLabs' Reading of EL HURACAN Tonight

MCC Theater today announced the complete cast and creative team for Charise Castro Smith's El Hurac n, the second of the 2017 PlayLabs readings, which will be held tonight, Monday, September 25th at 7pm at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street).

First Lady Chirlane McCray and Gabrielle Fialkoff, Senior Advisor and Director of the Mayor's Office of Strategic Partnerships, announced today a partnership between the Gracie Mansion Conservancy and MCC Theater during its 2017/18 season to increase access to arts and culture to at-risk youth. Gracie Mansion hosted the launch event on Wednesday, September 20th, featuring a performance of selected scenes from the Off-Broadway production of Charm, followed by a youth-focused panel discussion. In October, New Conservatory Theatre Center welcomes the return of the plays of Philip Dawkins with the regional premiere of Le Switch, directed by Tom Bruett. Following the success of NCTC's production of Dawkin's play The Homosexuals in its 2013-14 Season, NCTC brings the play that has been hailed by Chicago Tribune as "another significant play from one of the Chicago's theater's brightest talents." Le Switch follows David, a self-possessed New York librarian with a need for classification, a love for collecting rare books he never opens and a strong ambivalence about marriage.
