Rrazz Room to Celebrate 1st Anniversary with March 17 Gala - Moreno, Clark, Powers & More to Perform

The Rrazz Room, San Francisco?s premier nightclub offering world class jazz, soul, cabaret, comedy and popular music entertainment, has announced the lineup for its 1st Anniversary Gala & Benefit for St Jude Children's Hospital. The Gala will be held Tuesday, March 17th at The Rrazz Room at The Hotel Nikko, 222 Mason, San Francisco at 7:30 PM. Performers for the Gala, most of whom appear regularly at the Rrazz Room, include Rita Moreno, Petula Clark, Paul Williams, Stefanie Powers, Sally Kellerman, Paula West, Freda Payne, Linda Clifford, Edna Wright & Honey Cone, Valarie Pettiford, David Hernandez, Tim Hockenberry, Sony Holland, and Terese Genecco. Mistress of Ceremonies for the evening is Jan Wahl. Black tie/ cocktail attire is recommended and there will be an auction as part of the festivities. ALLIES Will Now Be Presented In Concert Version At BLVD 1/26

ALLIES, a new rock musical featuring the songs of the legendary band Heart, will be presented in concert version at BLVD ( 199 Bowery at Spring St) on Monday, January 26th at 9:00 p.m. Industry and the general public are invited to make reservations on the show's official website at www.alliesthemusical.com. ALLIES features a book by Celina Carvajal and Maggie F. Levin. The staged concert will be directed by Sam Buggein. Paul Leschen is the music director. The cast features Ms. Carvajal, Brian Charles Rooney (Threepenny Opera), Chris Hall (Bedbugs!!!, Twist). Ryan Bogner (Bedbugs!!!, Hey, You Know What Movie Would Make A Good Musical?) will read the stage directions. In the tradition of Hedwig & the Angry Inch, ALLIES is a raw, concert-style musical about a love triangle that rocks the lives of a brother & sister. Gabby & Chris Ford are as close as struggling twenty-something siblings can be, when their bond is blown apart by the seductive - and secretive - Matt Rhode. Part live rock show - complete with roadies changing the set and a kickass lead axe - and part heartstring-plucking drama, ALLIES features the songs of the legendary band Heart, including hits like 'Barracuda,' 'These Dreams,' and 'Alone.'

Petula Clark is set to perform at Castro, San Francisco's Historic Movie palace in 'An evening with Petula Clark: All the great hits.' The show will be Saturday March 21 at 8pm. Petula has appeared in over 30 British and American films, but she is best known for her amazing recording career; 50 plus years and over a 1,000 songs and still counting! She has sold over 68 million records. Her breakout hit, 'Downtown,' skyrocketed to number 1 in the USA. The song launched her American career and earned her a Grammy. She quickly followed with 'I Know A Place' which went to number three and earned Petula her second Grammy. All total, Petula has had 15 top 40 hits in the USA and two #1 hits. Internationally, she has charted in the top 40 with 159 recordings!

What's on Stage is reporting that Niki Evans, a contestant on iTV's series 'X-Factor' will be playing Mrs. Johnson in West End production of Blood Brothers, running at the Pheoenix Theatre, starting November 3rd, 2008. The show recently extended its contract with the Pheonix where it has been running since 1991. Evans is expected to take on the role for six months.
