When Anne Frank wrote in her diary, she was not just expressing her honest and true feelings about her daily observations and experiences. She was recording for posterity a harrowing tale of how a group of people tried against all odds to survive one of the most terrible times in history. Anne's family and friends hid in an attic for just over two years while the Nazis occupied the Netherlands. While living in constant fear of being discovered and captured, Anne and the others did all they could to attempt a normal existence and hold on to some semblance of optimism and hope. Ocean State Theatre Company's production perfectly creates those moments of hope while at the same time truthfully revealing how these people's resilience and courage were tested every day.

Bay Street Theatre's Literature Live! presents THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK live on stage now thru Tuesday, November 26. The play is suggested for ages 13 and up. The program is sponsored in part by The Dana Foundation; Halstead Property; Suffolk County; The Sunny & Abe Rosenberg Foundation; Colgate-Palmolive, and the Town of Southampton. Milwaukee Repertory Theater announced casting today for the moving, true story, The Diary of Anne Frank, their next production in the Quadracci Powerhouse.

The Spellbound Development Company and Anna Armstrong MD, with permission from the Anne Frank Fonds in Basel, Switzerland, are set to present a podcast of Meyer Levin's long-lost original radio play, ANNE FRANK: THE DIARY OF A YOUNG GIRL, in honor of its 60th Anniversary. Not heard since the eve of Rosh Hashanah in 1952, when it aired nationally on CBS Radio, Levin's play was the first adaptation of Anne Frank's diary.
