ALL IS CALM: THE CHRISTMAS TRUCE OF 1914 is a smartly conceived acapella musical by Peter Rothstein that chronicles the stunning events that occurred on Christmas Day 1914. It mixes short narrative bursts with 23 songs from the period, and it's never dull or contrived. For me, the hearty vocals produced by the cast are a sheer delight to listen to. Mustard Seed Theatre has put together a wonderful production that's a real treat for the upcoming holidays.

Hennepin Theatre Trust announced their November and December 2013 holiday lineup at the Orpheum, State, Pantages and New Century Theatres in downtown Minneapolis. Highlights include former Stray Cats' retro swing guitarist, and Minneapolis resident, Brian Setzer, the hilarious Minnesota spoof of the Charles Dickens' classic A Don't Hug Me Christmas Carol, legendary country recording artist Martina McBride, the Grammy Award-winning harmonies of The Manhattan Transfer, the Emmy Award-winning quartet The Blenders, Broadway's Tony Award-winning Best Musical The Phantom of the Opera, the glittering Lorie Line, the Theater Latte Da/Cantus collaboration All Is Calm: The Christmas Truce of 1914, and the witty, stylish holiday offerings ofJohn Trones with special guest, piano sensation Jim Brickman in Christmas in the City. That is the tough choice millions of immigrants to America faced from 1840-1924 during the golden age of immigration to America. Steerage Song created by Peter Rothstein and Dan Chouinard of Theater Latte Da gorgeously tells of the struggles European immigrants to America during this time faced.

Theater Latte Da previously announced that a season of four adventures in musical storytelling and the continuation of a major new work development program will comprise its 16th Season. Slated for production are Steerage Song at The Lab Theater (today, September 25 - October 20, 2013), All Is Calm: The Christmas Truce of 1914 at the Pantages Theatre (December 19-22, 2013), Cabaret at the Pantages Theatre (January 15 - February 9, 2014), and Our Town at The Lab Theater (March 12 - April 6, 2014). In spring 2014, the company will bring back NEXT: New Musicals in the Making, their program to develop new works for the musical theater canon.

As one of the twenty largest professional regional theatres in the U.S., Children's Theatre Company is the national leader in creating work for young audiences, ages two through eighteen. The 2013-2014 Season will be among the most innovative with three world premieres, two extraordinary guest companies, a new preschool piece and a Broadway musical. The season will also include a beloved classic never before seen at CTC and a Philip Pullman masterpiece brought to the stage for the first time. The Wong Kids in The Secret of the Space Chupacabra Go! by Lloyd Suh is CTC's first ever sci-fi anime inspired production. This world premiere will be co-produced with the Ma- Yi Theater Company and run at CTC before playing in New York.
