Nominations Announced for 2010 Hewes Design Awards

Nine theater artists will be honored by the Henry Hewes Design Awards Committee during the presentation of its 46th Annual Awards in a luncheon ceremony this fall. Eighty-one theater artists were nominated for outstanding artistry in 46 productions presented during the 2009-2010 New York theater season. Obie Award-winning Clubbed Thumb, celebrating their 15th season, proudly present the World Premiere of Roadkill Confidential, written by Sheila Callaghan and directed by Kip Fagan. Roadkill Confidential runs Off-Broadway from September 7 - 28, 2010 in a limited engagement at the 3LD Art & Technology Center, located at 80 Greenwich Street (at Rector Street) in NYC. Previews begin September 7 for a September 10 opening.

Performances End 7/11 For LCT3's ON THE LEVEE

Previews began Monday, June 14, for the LCT3 world premiere production of ON THE LEVEE, a play with music, conceived and directed by Lear deBessonet, with play by Marcus Gardley, and music and lyrics by Todd Almond, at The Duke on 42nd Street, a New 42nd Street® project (229 West 42 Street). ON THE LEVEE closes July 11. LCT3 is Lincoln Center Theater's programming initiative devoted to producing the work of new artists and developing new audiences. All tickets are $20.

Ontological-Hysteric Theater To Depart Performance Space at St. Mark's Church 6/30

The Ontological-Hysteric Theater announced today that it will cease operations at the theater space at St. Mark's Church in the Bowery at the end of the 2009-2010 season (June 30, 2010). Since taking up a permanent home at St. Mark's Theater in 1992, the Ontological has presented annual theater works by Richard Foreman, whose trademark 'total theater' unites elements of the performing arts, visual art, philosophy, psychoanalysis, literature and, in recent years, film.
