Theater for the New City's Dream Up Festival 2018 presents the World Premiere of 'MOVING  BODIES'

After developmental productions that drew high praise from prominent theatre critics, and left audiences alternately speechless and effusive, engaged and enraged, the Huntington Theatre Company presents the world premiere of Eleanor Burgess's explosive new play, The Niceties, running August 31 to October 6 at the South End/Calderwood Pavilion at the Boston Center for the Arts. The Huntington is pleased to produce the play in association with two other leading theatre companies. The production will move Off Broadway to Manhattan Theatre Club immediately following the Boston run, and then continue on to Princeton, NJ for performances at McCarter Theatre Center.  

The Huntington-Codman Summer Theatre Institute - a collaborative project of the Huntington Theatre Company Department of Education and Dorchester's Codman Academy Charter Public School - culminates in two public performances of William Shakespeare's The Merry Wives of Windsor today, July 26 and Friday, July 27 at 7pm at the Calderwood Pavilion at the BCA.

The Huntington Theatre Company has added an extra performance of the world premiere play, Fall, on Sunday, June 17 at 2pm. The play reveals the story of Arthur Miller's secret son with third wife Inge Morath, the decision they made to cut him out of their life, and the impact it had on their relationship. Fall stars Josh Stamberg (TV's 'Parenthood' and 'The Affair') as the iconic American playwright and Joanne Kelly (TV's "The Disappearance," "Warehouse 13," and "Slings and Arrows") as Morath. It is written by Bernard Weinraub (The Accomplices, Above the Fold), and directed by Huntington Artistic Director Peter DuBois.

Michael Maso, Managing Director of the Huntington Theatre Company (Peter DuBois, Artistic Director; Michael Maso, Managing Director), has announced Temple Gill's recent appointment to the newly-created post of Director of Public Affairs & Strategic Partnerships, effective June 4. Gill is currently the company's Director of Marketing, a post she has held since 2006. Huntington Theatre Company board and staff are celebrating the shattering of a fundraising record at the Spotlight Spectacular gala, Monday, May 7. Held at the Boston Center for the Arts Cyclorama, the gala brought in $1.275 million to support the Huntington's operations for the fiscal year, including its broad range of education and community outreach programs.

Lin-Manuel Miranda has teamed up with Ben Platt for the newest song in his #Hamildrop series, Found/Tonight. The song, which features vocals by both men, features bits of 'The Story of Tonight' from Hamilton and 'You Will Be Found' from Dear Evan Hansen. Listen below!

As previously announced, Lin-Manuel Miranda is teaming up with Ben Platt for the next #Hamildrop track. It was recently revealed that the track is called 'Found Tonight' and will be released tonight at midnight. A portion of the proceeds from the track will go to the March For Our Lives Initiative.

Ben Platt took to Twitter today to share an audition tape of himself singing 'Maria' from West Side Story. A film remake by Steven Spielberg is currently in the works but no word on if that's the project Platt was auditioning for or his involvement, if any.

Boston Latin School senior Xiadi Zhai was named Massachusetts's 2018 Poetry Out Loud (POL) Champion Sunday at Boston's Old South Meeting House. She bested 23 other finalists to earn the top honor. First runner-up was Helen Rahman, a senior from Masconomet Regional High School, and second runner-up was Tori Milun, a sophomore from Norwell High School.

Twenty-five students from across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts advanced from this weekend's four regional semi-final contests of the 13th annual Poetry Out Loud National Recitation Contest to compete in the State Finals on Sunday, March 11 at the Old South Meeting House (310 Washington Street, Boston). The event begins at 9:30am and is free and open to the public. The Huntington Theatre Company's Department of Education has facilitated the Massachusetts chapter of this national contest in partnership with the Mass Cultural Council since its inception 13 years ago.

Former DEAR EVAN HANSEN star Ben Platt has officially lined up his next big thing. Platt will star in the upcoming feature film titled LOVE & OATMEAL.
