The talented cast of THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE received a standing ovation following their opening night performance at Haven Academy of the Arts in El Segundo. The production is directed by Rebekah Hellerman, Haven Academy's Artistic and Managing Director. Please join them for a wonderful evening of entertainment, perfect for the entire family. Performances will be held at the OCF Auditorium (343 Coral Circle in El Segundo) on July 10, 11, 12, 13 at 7:00 PM and July 13 at 2:00 PM.

Thoroughly Modern Millie is a high-spirited musical romp taking place in New York City in 1922, telling the story of young Millie Dillmount who has just moved to the city in search of a new life for herself. It's a New York full of intrigue and jazz - a time when women were entering the workforce and the rules of love and social behavior were changing forever.

Haven Academy of the Arts, an El Segundo-based theatre program, is pleased to present its summer musical production of THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE at the OCF Auditorium (343 Coral Circle in El Segundo) on July 10, 11, 12, 13 at 7:00 PM and July 13 at 2:00 PM.

The 34th Annual Dora Mavor Moore Awards for the 2012/2013 season were handed out in a star-studded ceremony in Toronto on the evening of Monday, June 24 at the St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts' Bluma Appel Theatre, hosted by the hilarious Matt Baram and Naomi Snieckus, Second City alumni and founding members of the National Theatre of the World.

Halfway Home Productions will present AVARICE the concert, featuring book, music and lyrics by J. William Bruce and musical direction and orchestrations by David A. Shenton. The concert will star Tom Ashton, J. William Bruce, Lorelei Mackenzie, Stuart Metcalf, Kristen Penner and Joni Ernst.

Michael Audain's $5-million gift to Emily Carr, through the Audain Foundation for the Visual Arts, will create an enhanced visual arts learning environment offering a studio-based education reflective of the diversity and complexity of contemporary art. The Audain School of Visual Arts will be a cornerstone for the new Emily Carr Great Northern Way Campus.

The nominations have been announced for the Planet Connections Theatre Festivity's 2012 Awards Gala, taking place tonight, July 29 at 7:30pm at Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater (405 W. 55th Street). Among the nominees are three-time Tony Award-winner Hinton Battle (for directing & choreographing What We Do for Love or Other Desperate Measures) and recent Tony Award-nominee Patti Murin (for her performance in La Strega).
