Lexy Fridell, Steven Weber and More to Star in THE TRUMPET OF THE SWAN at the Wallis, 5/3-4

The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts presents The Trumpet of the Swan, A Novel Symphony for Actors and Orchestra, adapted by Pulitzer Prize-winner Marsha Norman from E.B. White's timeless children's novel, with music by Tony Award-winning composer, Jason Robert Brown. Norman and Brown are also currently represented on Broadway with the new musical adaptation of The Bridges of Madison County.

BWW Reviews: American Century's Hilarious, Surreal 'Oh Dad, Poor Dad, Momma's Hung You in the Closet and I'm Feelin' So Sad'

Written in the late 1950's in a fine post-graduate frenzy, Kopit's play was inspired as much by the European avant-garde as by the angst of the Eisenhower years. Director Tyler Herman has done a great job in his first production, creating the anarchic, bizarre feel that Kopit's play requires, with Katie Wertz's surreal set and Jacy Barber's biologically-correct costumes (for the fish and plant life) creating just the right off-kilter atmosphere.

Welcome Moss Hart Back to Broadway - Meet the Full Cast of Lincoln Center's ACT ONE, Beginning Tomorrow!

Lincoln Center Theater presents Act One, a play written and directed by James Lapine from the autobiography by Moss Hart. The production is scheduled to begin previews tomorrow night, March 20 and will open on Thursday, April 17 at the Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65 Street). Photo Coverage: Meet ROCKY's Creative Heavyweights Alex Timbers, Steven Hoggett & Kelly Devine!

The new musical Rocky is currently in previews at Broadway's historic Winter Garden Theatre ahead of an official bow on March 13. ROCKY brings to life the iconic and inspiring story of struggling small time Philly boxer, Rocky Balboa, who gets a once-in-a-lifetime shot to go the distance against heavyweight champ Apollo Creed. The production is directed by Alex Timbers, and features choreography by Steven Hoggett and Kelly Devine. WHBPAC to Present Swazzle's DREAM CARVER, 2/3-5

As part of its School Day Performances Series, the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center presents Swazzle's bilingual family musical Dream Carver, for ages 6 - 11, at 10 a.m. & 12:30 p.m. on Monday, February 3, Tuesday, February 4 and Wednesday, February 5. Broadway Publicity Firm Polk & Co. Expands with New Press Agents, IF/THEN, ROCKY, WICKED & More

Broadway PR firm Polk & Co.'s founder and president, Matt Polk, has just announced that Tom D'Ambrosio, Wayne Wolfe, Frances White and Colgan McNeil will be joining the public relations, media strategies and social media firm. Beginning January 6, 2014, the four press agents, formerly of The Hartman Group, will join the existing company of five including press agents Jessica Johnson and Michelle Bergmann.

This talented family will perform a host of holiday favorites and tunes from their various forays on the Great White Way in the tradition of the Andy Williams Christmas specials that mesmerized them as children. Expect tight, four-part harmonies, color coordinated hats and mufflers, indoor sleigh rides, audience participation, mistletoe, and plenty of high belting.

After beginning his career in 1993, longtime theatrical press agent MICHAEL HARTMAN, founder and CEO of one of the largest and most successful theatrical publicity firms in New York, will say goodbye to Broadway and close THE HARTMAN GROUP on Sunday, January 5, 2014, remaining fully operational until then.

IFC Renews COMEDY BANG! BANG! for Third Season

Scott Aukerman's Comedy Bang! Bang! is coming back with a bang to IFC. The fan favorite comedy series was renewed today for a third season with 20 half-hour episodes, scheduled to air in two ten episode installments in 2014.
