Susan Lucci & Thomas Roberts to Host Annual UCP of NYC Women Who Care Awards Luncheon, 5/7

Edward R. Matthews, CEO of United Cerebral Palsy of New York City (UCP of NYC), and Loreen Arbus, Founder & Chair of Women Who Care, announced today that Susan Lucci, star of the hit series 'Devious Maids,' Emmy award-winning actress from 'All My Children,' host of Investigation Discovery's 'Deadly Affairs,' and New York Times best-selling author, will return for the third consecutive year as host of The 14th Annual Women Who Care Awards Luncheon.

This by-invitation-only benefit, emceed by Emmy-winning co-hosts of the 4th Hour of The Today Show Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb, raised $1.26 million -- enough to provide 196,000 meals for New York's homebound elderly. Epic Fifth Symphony to Open Andrés Orozco-Estrada's 3 WEEKS OF BEETHOVEN, 11/13

HOUSTON (October 29, 2014) – On November 13-16, Houston audiences will experience a powerful opening to the 3 Weeks of Beethoven, a multi-weekend celebration of Beethoven's music, led by new Music Director Andrés Orozco-Estrada. Andrés lends his unique blend of passion and electricity to 11 thrilling performances over three weeks, which begin a larger three-year cycle of all nine Beethoven symphonies between the 2014-15 and 2016-17 seasons.

Elizabeth A. Sackler Elected First Woman Board Chair of Brooklyn Museum

The Members of the Board of Trustees of the Brooklyn Museum have elected Elizabeth A. Sackler, Board member since 2000, as the Museum's Chair. Dr. Sackler, the first woman in the nearly 200-year history of the Museum to serve in that position, is the founder of the Museum's Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art. She succeeds retiring chair John S. Tamagni, who has served as Chair since 2011 and will continue to serve as an active Board member.

Dance Theatre of Harlem (DTH) held its 2014 Vision 2014 Gala on February 25th at Cipriani 42 in New York City. As Dance Theatre of Harlem celebrates its 45th Anniversary, this year's gala was themed 'Live the Moment' and raised $700,000, $75,000 of which resulted from the entertaining live auction conducted by Audrey Smaltz, with the proceeds benefitting the DTH School's Next Generation and Community Engagement Funds. Honorees were Grammy Award-winning recording artist Patti LaBelle with the Arthur Mitchell Vision Award; dance educator and arts advocate Jody Gottfried Arnhold with The Carl and Lily Pforzheimer Foundation Medal; and Goldman, Sachs & Co. senior partner Valentino D.
