Heck, Borle, Kazan et al. Lead ANGELS IN AMERICA at Signature Theatre this Fall

Signature Theatre Company (James Houghton, Founding Artistic Director; Erika Mallin, Executive Director) is pleased to announce casting for the first New York revival of Tony Kushner's Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning epic work, ANGELS IN AMERICA: A GAY FANTASIA ON NATIONAL THEMES. The production will be directed by Michael Greif. ANGELS IN AMERICA is the first production of Signature's 20th Anniversary season, celebrating the works of Tony Kushner.

'I murdered Mozart!' rings out across Europe from Composer Antonio Salieri on his death-bed. Salieri had been the toast of Europe. He had been a devout Catholic all his life. He made a pact with God that he would be the vessel through which God's music would spring. All was good until Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart arrives in Vienna. In horror Salieri determines that it is Mozart instead who is his God's chosen voice.

GLADD Media, Lucille Lortel and OBIE Award winner Colman Domingo - who last season was seen on The Vineyard stage twice, first in his Lucille Lortel Award-winning autobiographical play A BOY AND HIS SOUL and most recently in the Kander and Ebb musical THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS, and who will play Billy Flynn in CHICAGO on Broadway this summer - will host Vineyard Theatre's 2010 Spring Luncheon and the presentation of the 3rd Annual Paula Vogel Playwrighting Award to emerging playwright Kara Lee Corthron on Thursday, June 17 from 12pm to 2pm at the National Arts Club (15 Gramercy Park South) in Manhattan.

Carmel Community Players will present Paula Vogel's How I Learned to Drive during a two-week run beginning June 3rd, 2010 at the Carmel Community Playhouse at Clay Terrace. Vogels's play won the Pulitzer Prize in 1998 and is the fourth show in CCP's 2009-10 Pulitzer Prize-winning Season.

Salieri now makes a terrible new vow: to block God on earth and teach Him a lesson, using Mozart as the means to that end.
