Libra Theater Company, in association with The TR?F, presents the World Premiere of ROYAL FABLES a new musical that explores the lives of classic and not-so-classic fairy tale princesses. Featuring book, music and lyrics by Nick Luckenbaugh, the production is directed by Megan Mekjian starring a cast of 18. Previews begin October 30 at Access Theater.

The 44th season at Kumu Kahua Theatre continues with a world premiere of a new Susan Soon He Stanton play. Susan also wrote Whatever Happened to John Boy Kihano' and The Art of Preservation, both of which also premiered at Kumu Kahua Theatre.

This week Risk Again explores the rich relationship between the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center's National Theater Institute (est. 1970) and National Playwrights Conference (est. 1964). Both committed to developing new work in a collaborative environment where artists are free to risk and safe to fail.

Combined Artform and Matthew Quinn's WOMEN has added four additional performances: November 1st, 6th, 13th & 14th - 8:00PM. It officially opened September 5th. After a sold-out run in New York City and the Hollywood Fringe Festival, WOMEN, written by Chiara Atik and directed by Stephanie Ward, is returning to Los Angeles for a full run at the Asylum Theater, August 28th through October 25th.

The commissioned writers are Jeff Augustin (Little Children Dream of God), Courtney Baron (A Very Common Procedure) and Juliana Nash (Murder Ballad), Nell Benjamin (The Explorers Club), Madeline George (The (curious case of the) Watson Intelligence), Tom Holloway (And No More Shall We Part), Nathan Jackson (Broke-ology), Branden Jacobs-Jenkins (An Octoroon), Greg Pierce (Slowgirl), and Alexandra Wood (The Initiate).

Sundance Institute today announced the projects and artists that will participate in its two Fall artist development programs: the inaugural Playwrights Studio at Flying Point in Water Mill, NY (October 19-26), as well as the two-week Theatre Lab (November 30 - December 14) for musical theatre, ensemble-generated projects and solo work at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (MASS MoCA). Under the supervision of Artistic Director Philip Himberg and Producing Director Christopher Hibma, the initiatives are among the Theatre Program's five annual Labs and Residencies for theatre artists and part of the 24 artist residency labs across many creative disciplines Sundance Institute offers annually.

The Denver Center for the Performing Arts has announced the expansion of the Theatre Company's 10th annual Colorado New Play Summit. The enlargement coincides with the Women's Voices Fund endowment surpassing the one million dollar mark. The festival of new work will take place over two weekends, 2/14-2/15 and 2/21-2/22 and will feature new plays by four of the industry's hottest playwrights; Jason Gray Platt, Theresa Rebeck, Tanya Saracho, and Catherine Trieschmann.

'Mad Men' star Vincent Kartheiser and Broadway's Larry Pine (CASA VALENTINA) play Billy Wilder and Raymond Chandler, respectively, in BILLY & RAY, Mike Bencivenga's new play -- directed by the legendary director/writer/producer Garry Marshall -- being given its NY premiere this fall at the Vineyard Theatre (108 E. 15 St.), with an official opening tonight, October 20, 2014.

The CSULB Theatre Arts Department University Players will present The Colored Museum, written by George C. Wolfe, music by Kysia Bostic, and directed by Trevor Biship. Playing today, October 17th through November 1st, The Colored Museum, in a series of vignettes, explores stereotypes through African American stories and history.
