Recipient of the 2018 National Theatre Company Award from the American Theatre Wing (The Tony Awards) and one of just 4 theaters in Rhode Island operating under agreement with Actors' Equity Association, the company has put together a thrilling and diverse mix of World, Regional, and Rhode Island premieres to engage our community in the most pressing issues of today.

The Strand Theater Company concludes its 11th consecutive season as the only women-centric company in Baltimore with the regional premiere of And Baby Makes Seven by Pulitzer Prize Winner and a native Marylander, Paula Vogel, directed by Emily Hall. Anna, Ruth and Peter await the arrival of their newborn child, but first they must rid the crowded apartment of their three imaginary children.

INTAR (Lou Moreno, Artistic Director/John McCormack, Executive Director) and Radio Drama Network (Melina Brown, President) today announced the cast for the World Premiere of Then They Forgot About the Rest, a new play by Georgina Escobar, directed by David Mendizabal. Performances will begin April 13th for a limited Off-Broadway engagement through May 12th. Opening Night is set for April 22nd.

The Segal Centre for Performing Arts is announcing the Montreal premiere of Indecent, directed by Segal Centre Artistic and Executive Director Lisa Rubin. Inspired by true events, this buzzworthy new play by Paula Vogel is an homage to the art of making theatre, and is one of the most produced plays across North America this season. Artistic Director Chris Coleman has announced the 41st season of the DCPA Theatre Company, the producing regional theatre arm of the Denver Center for the Performing Arts (DCPA). The new season kicks off performances on August 30 and will feature eight productions including two world premieres from the 2019 Colorado New Play Summit and - for the first time in repertory - A Doll's House and A Doll's House, Part 2.

William Inge Theatre Festival Tickets On Sale

Tickets are now on sale for the 38th annual William Inge Theater Festival, which will honor playwright Octavio Solis with the William Inge Distinguished Achievement in the American Theater Award. The Inge Festival has been the official theater festival of Kansas since 2010. It runs May 22-25, 2019 and is produced by the William Inge Center for the Arts at Independence Community College, in the lovely town of Independence, in southeast Kansas.

Trinity Repertory Company announced today that three area residents will be honored at its 2019 Pell Awards Gala on Monday, June 3, 2019 in Providence. Storyteller Valerie Tutson will receive the Rhode Island Pell Award for Excellence in the Arts. Central Falls High School teacher Deloris Davis Grant will receive the Charles Sullivan Award for Distinguished Service in the Arts. The Pell Award for Outstanding Leadership in the Arts will go to Rosanne Somerson, President of the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). Additional honorees will be announced at a later date.

The cast has been announced for the upcoming production of 'Indecent' by Pulitzer Prize winner Paula Vogel. This Tony Award-nominated play will be produced at the Ahmanson Theatre in a co-production with Huntington Theatre Company. Directed by Tony Award winner Rebecca Taichman, 'Indecent' runs from June 5 through July 7, 2019. The opening is set for June 9.
