To make room for highly-anticipated new productions such as Finding Neverland, On the Twentieth Century and Doctor Zhivago, some of our most beloved shows must close for good. The Old Globe will hold a developmental reading of the new musical Rain, with book by Sybille Pearson (Baby, Giant), music and lyrics by Michael John LaChiusa (The Wild Party, Giant, Marie Christine), based on the short story 'Rain' by W. Somerset Maugham, and directed by Old Globe Artistic Director Barry Edelstein.

A trailer has been released for writer/director Kate Barker-Froyland's romantic drama SONG ONE, starring Anne Hathaway and Johnny Flynn. The film hits theaters on January 23rd.

The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) has announced the winners of the NYMF 2014 Awards for Excellence. Awards are voted on by the NYMF jury and the awards were presented at the closing night celebration on July 27th at Arena Events Space.

Set in the present day on the porch of a swamp house in Mississippi, BAYONETS OF ANGST introduces audiences to a handful of old codgers who are partaking in their annual reunion. In fact, this is their 149th gathering, and each year the shrinking group gets together to relive their experiences during the American Civil War. As an audience, we are told to forget what we learned in history because these men were there. Over the next two hours, we are treated to a dizzying array of madcap, behind-the-scenes hilarity that turns history on its head.

The 2014 New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) production of BAYONETS OF ANGST will star Tony Award nominee J. Robert Spencer, set to play Abraham Lincoln in the world premiere.
