The Movement Theatre Company, a Harlem-based nonprofit committed to showcasing emerging artists of color, begins rehearsals for the premiere of And She Would Stand Like This by Harrison David Rivers, directed by David Mendizabal, choreographed by Kia LaBeija. ATTACK OF THE ELVIS IMPERSONATORS to Leave the Building This Month

Elvis is leaving the building! Producer Lawrence Rosner has announced, today, Attack of the Elvis Impersonators, the campy musical comedy that leaves you howling for more, with book, music and lyrics by Lory Lazarus, will play its final performance Sunday evening, July 30, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. at The Lion Theatre at Theatre Row.

National Sawdust Curator Anthony Roth Costanzo presents Re-Imagined Handel Cantata This July

This summer, countertenor Anthony Roth Costanzo, a "bona-fide star" (New Yorker) of the Metropolitan Opera, Berlin Philharmonic, Lyric Opera of Chicago, San Francisco Opera, English National Opera, Canadian Opera Company, LA Opera, and Glyndebourne, returns as one of twelve curators to Brooklyn's artist-led National Sawdust (NS), where he will present and perform in a radical reimagining of Handel's dramatic cantata Aci, Galatea e Polifemo, a co-production of National Sawdust and San Francisco's Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra & Chorale (led by conductor Nicholas McGegan).

Everything today, is indeed thoroughly modern. From the cars we drive, to the mobile phones we are glued to, to the latest fashion, American society is all about following latest trends and embracing the fads of the day. This is something that has been the case for generation to generation, even the "roaring twenties", the setting for Goodspeed Muscials' season opener THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE. Something else that hasn't changed that much in the last hundred years - the self-starting, determined spirit of young people pursuing their dreams. That too, is on display in living color on the Goodspeed stage through Millie and the quirky characters that inhabit her 1922 New York world.
