KISS ME KATE Screens in 3-D at Film Forum

"3-D Auteurs," a 19-day, 34-film festival spotlighting stereoscopic movies by some of history's most distinguished directors, will run at Film Forum from Friday, November 11 through Tuesday, November 29. The festival spans 3-D's earliest days (including some turn-of-the-century films by pioneer Georges Melies) to the present, and represents virtually every genre, including Westerns, Film Noir, and Science Fiction.

Cast Changes Announced For West End's PHANTOM OF THE OPERA

Film Society of Lincoln Center Announces Summer Late-Night Film Series

he Film Society of Lincoln Center announced today the continuation of a summer tradition of showcasing great genre classics to beat the heat. Following the tradition of last summer's popular "Midnight Movies" series, each film in the new "Freaky Friday" series will kick off the weekend at 11pm and have the same weekly blend of mind-melting, gross-out horror as well as some rarely screened classic cult favorites in glorious 35mm, curated by Film Society programmer and Film Comment Editor Gavin Smith.

Barbara Cook, Vinyl, 'Dancing in the Grand Ballrooms' and More Set for Symphony Space's SLEEPING AROUND Festival, 4/26-5/21

Everyone looks forward to Symphony Space's annual Spring Festival, highlighted by the Wall to Wall marathon, and this may be the most provocative one yet. Sleeping Around, Symphony Space's 2014 installment, celebrates the culture and notoriety of New York City's hotels and their denizens, from the Algonquin to the Chelsea. It opens on Saturday, April 26 with a concert by Barbara Cook, and runs through May 21, with a tasty menu of concerts, readings, and films. Wall to Wall Cabaret takes place on Saturday, May 3 (5 - 11 pm).

BWW Reviews: Nothing Much to See in A TOWN CALLED FOKOL LUTHO

On paper, A TOWN CALLED FOKOL LUTHO looks as though it should work, but some appealing songs and a few chuckles aside, the show falls short of what it aspires to be: an engaging and memorable musical comedy that holds its own in the local musical theatre scene.

MoMA Announces Film Exhibitions for January and February 2013

MoMA and the Global Film Initiative (GFI) present Global Lens, an annual touring exhibition conceived by GFI to encourage filmmaking in countries with developing film communities. This selection of 10 films from as far afield as Iran, Serbia, Chile, Kazakhstan, and Iraq includes projects developed with seed money from GFI, and represents a concise survey of contemporary filmmaking from areas where local political restrictions and/or economic realities make such expensive and technology-driven endeavors a challenge. Global Lens 2013 will be headlined by ten award-winning narrative feature films from Brazil, Chile, China, Egypt, India, Iran, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Mexico and Serbia, all of which are deeply rooted in the social and political realities of the countries where their talented and resourceful makers live and set their stories.

UK Tour of BIG THE MUSICAL Postponed

According to Whatsonstage.com, the February 14 run of Big -The Musical at the Liverpool Empire has been postponed. As previously reported, the European premiere of the Broadway show BIG - THE MUSICAL will star Tom Chambers, winner of BBC TV's Strictly Come Dancing, and star of Holby City and Waterloo Road, in the role made famous by Tom Hanks in the original feature film. Additional details regarding the postponement have not yet been announced.
