The Beatles' classic 1968 animated feature film, Yellow Submarine, has been digitally restored for DVD and Blu-ray release on May 28 (May 29 in North America). The film's songtrack album will be reissued on CD on the same date.

The Public Theater announced the dates today for the 50th Anniversary season of free Shakespeare in the Park at the Delacorte. AS YOU LIKE IT, directed by Daniel Sullivan, will begin previews on Tuesday, June 5 and continue for four weeks through Saturday, June 30. Joining the previously announced Lily Rabe (Rosalind) will be Macintyre Dixon (Adam); Renee Elise Goldsberry (Celia); and Omar Metwally (Oliver).

Kenny Lynch, one of the UK's best loved all-round entertainers, will make a guest appearance during The Rat Pack Is Back at the Wyvern Theatre. Kenny Lynch was one of the relatively-few Black singers on the British pop scene in the early 1960s. He made the top ten a couple of times in 1963 with a cover of the Drifters' Up On The Roof and his own composition You Can Never Stop Me Loving You.

As part of their "In Performance at the White House" series, the President and First Lady will invite music legends and contemporary major artists to the White House for a celebration of Blues music and in recognition of Black History Month. The program will include performances by Troy "Trombone Shorty" Andrews, Jeff Beck, Gary Clark, Jr., Shemekia Copeland, Buddy Guy, Warren Haynes, Mick Jagger, B.B. King, Keb Mo, Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks, with Taraji P. Henson as the program host and Booker T. Jones as music director and band leader. The President's remarks will be pooled press and the entire event will be streamed live on www.whitehouse.gov/live starting at 7:20 PM ET.

According to UK's The Sun, producers of AMC's MAD MEN have approached Sir Paul McCartney about using some of his solo music on the show and offering him the opportunity to have a 'walk-on' role as well. According to the report, the 69-year old former Beatle has agreed to both propositions.

The 22nd annual MusiCares tribute gala took place on February 10th, honoring Paul McCartney. McCartney has been selected as the 2012 MusiCare Person of the Year in recognition of his artistic and philanthropic efforts. The star-studded tribute took place at the Los Angeles Convention Center's West Hall. The gala featureD a cocktail reception, silent auction, dinner, and concert of McCartney's music, played by a variety of guest musicians as well as McCartney himself. The annual event is held to raise funds and awareness of the Recording Academy's philanthropic wing, with proceeds benefitting MusicCares' emergency financial assistance and addiction recovery programs.
