'Tis the Sunday before Piaf opens at The Curve Theatre, Leicester. I am sitting in my digs, with a glass of wine in hand, wondering what the press will think of it all. Hopefully, they will enjoy it as much as the preview audiences. However, until they give their verdict, let me tell you about the lead-up to now and rehearsals.

Award-winning actress Janie Dee returns to Curve to play the title role in Artistic Director Paul Kerryson's production of Michael Stewart and Jerry Herman's Hello, Dolly! This production reunites Dee and Kerryson following their collaboration on The King and I in 2010. The production opens on Wednesday 5 December, with previews from 30 November, and runs until 12 January 2013.

American Composers Orchestra's (ACO) 21st Annual Underwood New Music Readings take place from tonight, Friday, June 1 to Saturday, June 2, 2012 at the DiMenna Center for Classical Music (450 W. 37th St., NYC). The Readings include two public events - a working rehearsal on Friday at 10am, and a run-through on Saturday at 7:30pm. Leicester Curve's acclaimed production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's smash-hit musical, THE KING AND I comes to Birmingham Hippodrome from today 1 May through Sat 5 May 2012. Ramon Tikaram will play the role of 'The King' and Josefina Gabrielle will play the role of 'Anna' alongside two teams of 32 local children.
