Up there, high, high in the lovely apartment in midtown Manhattan, lives the mysterious Paul Kandel. Who is this creature? What is he? How did he come to be there? Hush! Rob and Kevin will tell you as they sit down with the wonderful Mr. Kandel, best known for his role as Uncle Ernie in THE WHO'S TOMMY and as the voice of Clopin in Disney's THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME. 

After a two-decade wait, Disney's cult animated musical finally comes to the stage, in an all too timely production.

It is one of the most wondrous moments in all of Shakespeare's plays; the moment near the end of The Winter's Tale when the statue of Hermione comes to life. Whether it is magic, divine intervention, or merely the resolution of a well-concealed plot, it doesn't matter. It never fails to leave me with a catch in my throat and a feeling of awe at the ability of theatre to engender so affecting a response.

Breuer wrote and directs the work, a mixed-media pop-opera with Bunraku puppets, a cast of singers and live music composed by Lincoln Schleifer that ranges from Motown to Broadway and reggae to raga. La Divina Caricatura, a metaphorical send-up of Dante's classic, concerns Rose the Dog, who makes a pilgrimage through love to Paradiso. Rose thinks she's a woman and fantasizes a mad love affair with her master John, an East Village independent filmmaker. The show, Part 1 of a trilogy, draws on material that stretches all the way back to Breuer's doo-wop opera Sister Suzie Cinema (1975).

Sex In A Coma, a new play by Susan Eve Haar, will make its New York City debut directed by renowned director Lee Breuer, in his first collaboration with a living American playwright. The play stars Tony® Award nominee Paul Kandel (The Who's TOMMY, Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame), David-Julian Melendez (User 927 and Romeo & Juliet at HERE), Obie Award winner Maude Mitchell (Mabou Mines Dollhouse, The Laramie Project), Obie Award winner Ching Valdes-Aran (Oresteia, Flipzoids), Jessica Weinstein (Mabou Mines DollHouse, The Best), and Wendy vanden Heuvel (The Barbie Project, Resurrection Blues).
