The New Group announces additional casting for productions coming up in the company's 2016-2017 Season.

Urban Stages has confirmed the line-up for this year's award-winning series, WINTER RHYTHMS 2016, which will begin tomorrow, Thursday, December 1, and will feature some of New York's best musical performances through Sunday, December 11, 2016 at Urban Stages Theatre (259 West 30th Street, just East of 8th Avenue).

Seattle Repertory Theatre presents Vietgone, the highly anticipated new play, produced in association with the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, from up-and-coming playwright Qui Nguyen (Vampire Cowboys). Vietgone loosely chronicles Nguyen's parent's journey from Vietnam to American in 1975, with a quirky approach Nguyen describes as 'a sex comedy about my parents.' With direction by May Adrales, who has been with the show since its inception, Vietgone will run December 2, 2016-January 1, 2017 (opening night is December 7, 2016) in the Leo K. Theatre. What happens when she meets up with her former classmates? It's a mixed-up mash-up of high school reunion meets The Office.

On December 13, 2015 Meg Flather revived her 1993 solo show PORTRAITS as part of Stephen Hanks' Metropolitan Room series NEW YORK CABARET'S GREATEST HITS (Associate Producer, Fr. Jeffrey Hamblin, MD). Backed by Paul Greenwood on piano and John Mettam on drums, and with Lennie Watts on board as Director to tweak the former show, Meg mesmerized the Metropolitan Room audience with what has become a critically acclaimed performance, perhaps one of her best ever. Flather then performed her new PORTRAITS three times early this year to packed houses at Don't Tell Mama. Now she's doing it one more time at the venue on Sunday, December 11 at 7 pm.

The Radicalization of Rolfe, winner of 2016 FringeNYC Overall Excellence Award, re-opens as part of the Fringe Encore Series 2016 at The Soho Playhouse, 15 Vandam Street, New York City on Sunday, October 23, 2016. Written by Andrew Bergh and directed by Abigail Zealey Bess, The Radicalization of Rolfe is inspired by the backstory of the lesser-known but vital secondary characters in the legendary musical The Sound of Music. "A tone perfect production," the New York Times declares it is "a play that was just as much fun as - and cleverer than - it promised to be."
