The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts joins forces with the Ojai Music Festival for the first time to present a lively Arts & Ideas conversation between groundbreaking opera and theater director Peter Sellars and The New Yorker music critic Alex Ross. Four exciting new original musical works -- Joe Schmoe Saves the World, Gold Mountain, Comic-Con the Musical and Legendale -- chosen from a record 146 submissions will be the focal point of The 2016 ASCAP Foundation Musical Theatre Workshop in Partnership with DreamWorks and The Wallis this week, Feb. 16 - 18, 2016. For the first time, the Workshop will be presented at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts and be open to the public.

Quincy Jones and Clark Terry protege, jazz pianist Justin Kauflin, will launch the Next Generation @ The Wallis series on Friday, January 22 at 8pm. Kauflin's performance is the first in a series that focuses the spotlight on rising artists across the performing arts spectrum. Two additional artists, Sean Chen and Steven Lin, will continue the series in February and March 2016.

The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts announces a new partnership with the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) and DreamWorks Studios to present the highly successful annual program, The ASCAP Foundation Musical Theatre Workshop. Now in its 23rd year under the leadership of Artistic Director Stephen Schwartz, the workshop -- giving selected composers and lyricists the opportunity to present selections from original musical works in progress for professional critique -- will take place at The Wallis in Beverly Hills from Feb. 16-18, 2016, with submissions now being accepted. The application deadline is Dec. 16, 2015.
