The Wallis to Welcome Ezralow Dance Company's OPEN This Month

By:

Marking his 'hometown debut,' award-winning choreographer Daniel Ezralow brings his new dance company to the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts for two exceptional nights of dance on Friday, April 29 and Saturday, April 30 at 8pm.

Ezralow's unique style of physical expression and articulate choreography has earned him a distinguished reputation as a groundbreaking artist worldwide. His work is celebrated in Julie Taymor's film Across the Universe, Cirque du Soleil's Love and in the opening ceremony of the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. With his nine-member troupe, he mingles contemporary dance with humor, provocative ideas, striking visuals and an unforgettable classical score in OPEN.

"Daniel effortlessly blends imaginative artistry with masterful skill, making him one of the most versatile and sought-after choreographers today," said Paul Crewes, The Wallis' new Artistic Director. "The choreography featured in OPEN exudes playfulness combined with engaging multimedia projections that transform this dance-theater piece into a mesmerizing experience for our audiences."

Daniel Ezralow will join arts reporter Victoria Looseleaf for a free pre-show conversation prior to each performance beginning at 7pm. Patrons are invited to attend, enjoy a complimentary glass of wine from The Henry Wine Group and listen to the lively pre-show discussion. RSVP is required to attend. Interested parties can email RSVP@TheWallis.org.
