BWW Flashback: The Queen Ends Her Reign on Broadway as THE AUDIENCE Closes Today

Peter Morgan's The Audience, starring Helen Mirren and directed by Stephen Daldry, began previews on February 14 and opened on March 8 at Broadway's Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre (236 West 45th Street). West End's THE AUDIENCE, with Kristin Scott Thomas, to Close, July 25

Stephen Daldry's hit production of Peter Morgan's The Audience will complete its run at the Apollo Theatre on 25 July 2015 as previously announced.  The production, starringKristin Scott Thomas as The Queen, opened in May to critical acclaim. The Audience - a play about the weekly meeting between the Queen and her Prime Ministers - has designs by Bob Crowley, with lighting by Rick Fisher, sound by Paul Arditti and music by Paul Englishby.

Tony Award-Winning SKYLIGHT Concludes Limited Run Today

Carey Mulligan and Bill Nighy reprise their critically acclaimed West End performances in the hit London production of David Hare's Skylight at the John Golden Theatre (252 West 45th Street), closing today, June 21. Directed by two-time Tony Award-winner Stephen Daldry, SKYLIGHT played to sold-out houses when it opened in the West End in June. It recently won the 2015 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Play.

Tickets to KING CHARLES III on Broadway Now on Sale

Producers Stuart Thompson and Sonia Friedman announced today that tickets are now on sale to the general public for the critically acclaimed Olivier Award-winning Best New Play, King Charles III, soon to open on Broadway this fall.  The highly anticipated play about Britain's future king, will begin previews October 10, 2015, with opening night set for November 1, 2015 at the Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street, NYC).

West End's BILLY ELLIOT to Celebrate Tenth Anniversary Tonight, May 12

Tonight, 12 May 2015, the multi award-winning smash hit Billy Elliot the Musical celebrates ten years in the West End.  The musical received its world premiere at the Victoria Palace Theatre in March 2005 with the gala opening night taking place exactly 10 years ago today.   To coincide with the 10th birthday celebrations, Billy Elliot the Musical today announces an extension to the West End run, releasing over 600,000 tickets for sale, taking booking through to 17 December 2016.  In addition, the first UK and Ireland tour of Billy Elliot the Musical is also announced today, opening at the Theatre Royal Plymouth in February 2016.  Further tour dates and booking details will be announced shortly.

Casting is today announced for the Manchester International Festival run of wonder.land, a new musical inspired by Lewis Carroll's iconic Alice in Wonderland, with music by Damon Albarn and book and lyrics by Moira Buffini (Tamara Drewe, Handbagged), directed by National Theatre Director Rufus Norris.

Peter Morgan Updates THE AUDIENCE Following General Election

Following the General Election, Peter Morgan has today (8 May 2015) updated his script for The Audience - a play about the weekly meeting between the Queen and her Prime Ministers - on the day HMQ invites David Cameron to form a new Government.  The updated scene between The Queen and David Cameron, played by Kristin Scott Thomas and Mark Dexter, will be performed for the first time at this evening's performance.
