- Oct 14, 2013
Today, we're featuring Jean LeClerc circa 1982. LeClerc first started his career in Quebec on the television series Les Belles Histoires des pays d'en haut. Roles in Quebecois movies followed, culminating in his first English-speaking role in the 1976 Canadian film, Strange Shadows in an Empty Room. That same year, he acted in a television miniseries about the life of Sarah Bernhardt, playing the role of Bernhardt's husband Jacques Damala. LeClerc moved to the United States in 1982, playing the part of a French doctor on the soap opera The Doctors. He played similar roles on The Edge of Night and As the World Turns before being offered the role of American Jeremy Hunter in 1985. In 2001, LeClerc briefly reappeared on All My Children, with his character Jeremy appearing as a ghost. LeClerc most recently appeared in a Patty Duke Show television reunion special and in the 2005 film Idole instantanee. LeClerc also appeared on Broadway as the title character in a production of Dracula.

by Robert Diamond
- Sep 7, 2013
Ed Asner is a television legend, the winner of seven acting Emmy Awards (which ties him with Mary Tyler Moore, both of whom rank second to their Mary Tyler Moore Show (1970) co-star, Cloris Leachman who has nine). In all, he has been nominated 20 times for an Emmy Award, with 17 nods for a Primetime Emmy and three for a Daytime award. (All of his wins were for primetime.)
As well as being one of the most outstanding and most respected actors of his generation, equally adept at comedy as he is at drama, Asner also made a name for himself as a trade unionist and a political activist. He served two terms as president of the Screen Actors Guild, from 1981-1985.
Because of his busy schedule, Ed Asner rarely makes public appearances solely to meet and greet fans. From September 19 to 21, 2013, Asner will be among the celebrities at the Mid-Atlantic Nostalgia Convention, devoting his time for fans of The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Elf, Hawaii Five-O, Up and numerous other accomplishments. Asner will dedicate a minimum of eight hours a day for each of the three days, posing for photographs with fans, signing autographs and participating in a question and answer session on stage.
The Mid-Atlantic Nostalgia Convention is a three-day festival where television and movie lovers from around the world can gather to watch premiere screenings of rare motion-pictures and documentaries, meet and greet iconic Television and Hollywood actors, and learn more about the by-gone era of Hollywood cinema. The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced Fasten Your Seatbelts (Part 2): 20th Century Fox (today, August 9-15), a summertime big screen showcase of some of the movie studio's most beloved and unforgettable films. Presented via DCP restorations and beautiful studio library 35mm prints, with a focus on a single artist and their creative contribution to each film, Fasten Your Seatbelts is sure to be a truly rare movie-going event. BWW Reviews: JOANNE TATHAM's Sophisticated SOUNDTRACK NEW YORK Is a Terrific Tribute to Manhattan Movie Music
by Stephen Hanks
- Jul 2, 2013
On the evening of June 22, I would be doing the third performance of my Don McLean Tribute show at the Metropolitan Room, but I had heard enough buzz about Los Angeles-based, former New Yorker Joanne Tatham that I wanted to catch the last staging of her show Soundtrack, New York: Music from Movies Made in Manhattan at the same venue that afternoon. Hey, a cabaret reviewer's work is never done. Besides, with my gig hours away, I felt my mental state would be best served catching someone else's show rather than climbing the walls thinking about my own. Overall, experiencing Ms. Tatham's performance turned out to be a very good use of my pre-show time.

'I don't care / I love it!' And so goes the chorus of Icona Pop's current chart-climbing hit covered on last night's GLEE. And, so, too, goes Glee 4.0 as it is - or, now, as it was. Indeed, this was a game-changing year for the pop culture mainstay and the season finale was a fulfilling sampling of many of the reasons why. Plus: Patty Duke!
Glee-Cap: All or Nothing

It's that time of year again, Gleeks! No, it's not time for Mr. Schue to white boy rap - we would all like to forget that ever happened. It's time for Regionals and you know for all the absurdity that entails - it wouldn't be Regionals without ridiculous. Will New Directions be champions again? Will Ryder's lady of mystery finally show herself? Will Blaine pop the question to Kurt? Will Rachel land a dream Broadway role? Hold on tight, Gleeks - you're in for a ride. Season four finale, I choose you! Go!
