Laguna Beach Festival of Arts to Celebrate August 24th with Star Studded Event, Raffle & More

LAGUNA BEACH, CA - Multiple Grammy winner and two-time Academy Award nominee James Ingram will provide the soundtrack to the most glamorous night of the summer art season, and Heather Locklear will pull the most sought-after winning ticket, at the Acura/KOST Celebrity Event, Concert and Pageant at the Laguna Beach Festival of Arts. Since the Festival season opened June 30th visitors have been purchasing their raffle tickets in hopes that they would be the lucky winner of a brand new 2014 Acura RLX with technology package (valued at $54,450) and on August 24th at 8:15pm the winner will be drawn.

The McCallum Theatre Adds Twenty-Plus New Shows to Its 2013-2014 Season

The Coachella Valley's premiere theatrical venue, The McCallum Theatre, has added an exciting new array of offerings to its' already jam-packed upcoming seaon. Comedy, jazz, world music, country royalty, pop icons and first ladies of American song have been added to the roster of McCallum Theatre's 2013-2014 season. 'We are always looking to add performances with the broadest appeal to Valley audiences,' said Mitch Gershenfeld, President & CEO of the McCallum. 'We are pleased that several terrific shows became available after our subscription brochure went to press and delighted to add them to what is already an exciting and diverse season of world-class entertainment.'

They join Caltech physicist Sean Carroll and MUSE/IQUE Artistic Director Rachael Worby, who conducts the MUSE/IQUE Orchestra for a pure out-of the-box adventure that also celebrates the 50th Anniversary of Maurice Sendak's 'Where the Wild Things Are' with a world premiere of a dance set to the score of Spike Jonze' critically acclaimed film adaptation of the beloved children's book. Gates open at 5:30 pm for dinner (ordered in advance) or bring-your-own picnics, with table seating and plentiful free parking.

Incomparable singer, songwriter, musician and producer Stevie Wonder will induct critically-acclaimed recording artist John Legend into the Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame at this year's Opening Night at the Hollywood Bowl, tonight, June 22, at 8 pm. Other inductees for this year are Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of iconic rock band AEROSMITH and vocalist/entertainer Patti Austin.

Angela Bassett to Host 2013 Hollywood Bowl Opening, 6/22

Actress Angela Bassett has been confirmed to host the 2013 Opening Night at the Hollywood Bowl, Saturday, June 22, at 8 pm. Also confirmed, talk show host/comedian Arsenio Hall will induct Patti Austin into the Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame that evening. Bassett and Hall join the star-studded lineup of participants for the special evening: in addition to Austin, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith and John Legend will be inducted into the Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame; Stevie Wonder will induct John Legend; and Darren Criss will perform, then introduce the Youth Orchestra LA (YOLA) student performance. Each inductee will perform with the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, led by Thomas Wilkins.

Darren Criss to Present YOLA at Hollywood Bowl Opening Night, 6/22

Actor and musician Darren Criss, star of television's 'Glee,' has been confirmed to participate in the 2013 Opening Night at the Hollywood Bowl, Saturday, June 22, at 8 pm. Before introducing Music Director Gustavo Dudamel's Youth Orchestra LA (YOLA), a program inspired by Venezuela's revolutionary El Sistema, the versatile and sought-after Criss will perform a song, joined by the John Burroughs High School Powerhouse Show Choir. Following the introduction by Criss, a group of 65 to 70 of the top YOLA students across its two sites will perform the conclusion of Stravinsky's Firebird, conducted by Thomas Wilkins.

Lea Salonga Returns to the Cafe Carlyle With BACK TO BEFORE, Now thru 6/8

The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel will welcome back Tony Award-Winner Lea Salonga to the Cafe Carlyle for her highly anticipated three-week engagement. Her new program, 'Back to Before,' is a nostalgic repertoire in which she revisits her life as a New Yorker and pays tribute to her favorite ladies-most notably Ella Fitzgerald and her idol, Barbra Streisand. 'Back to Before' will be making its debut at the Cafe Carlyle. Ms. Salonga's engagement at the Cafe Carlyle will run from tonight, May 21st to June 8th.

Patti Austin Tributes Ella Fitzgerald and Duke Ellington with Cleveland Orchestra Tonight

The Cleveland Orchestra concludes its acclaimed 2012-13 Celebrity Series tonight, May 18, when Patti Austin performs with the Orchestra in a concert that pays homage to the revered jazz classics of Ella Fitzgerald and Duke Ellington. The program includes Fats Waller's 'Honeysuckle Rose,' Sam Coslow's 'You'll Have to Swing It (Mr. Paganini),' and selections by Duke Ellington.

Carole King Set for 'In Performance at the White House' Series, 5/22

As part of their "In Performance at the White House" series, the President and First Lady will host a concert in the East Room honoring singer-songwriter Carole King, who will be awarded the 2013 Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song. President Obama will present the award as he did when the Library of Congress honored Stevie Wonder (2009), Sir Paul McCartney (2010), and the songwriting team of Burt Bacharach and Hal David (2012). The program will include performances by King, as well as Gloria Estefan, Billy Joel, Jesse McCartney, Emeli Sande, James Taylor and Trisha Yearwood.
