Vanessa Rose Named Executive Director of the International Contemporary Ensemble

The International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE) announced today that Vanessa Rose has been named its new Executive Director. ICE founder Claire Chase will remain ICE's Co-Artistic Director and flutist. Rose comes to ICE from the Lark Play Development Center where she served as Director of Development from 2013-2015. She was selected by ICE's Board of Directors on August 3 and will assume the directorship on September 1, 2015, alongside Chase and Co-Artistic Director and clarinetist Joshua Rubin. (more...)

St. Luke's Subway Series to Bring Brass Music to Various NYC Venues this Month

Over one week in late September, brass quintet music-from courtly dances to ragtime tunes-will ring out from scenic gardens and overlooks throughout the five boroughs. For a fourth year, the annual St. Luke's Subway Series will bring free concerts across New York City while collecting food donations for City Harvest. This year's program, Brass Gardens, will be performed exclusively in outdoor venues, allowing the music to mix with nature, and offering audiences a relaxed and unique concert experience. (more...)

St. Luke's Chamber Ensemble completes its 2011/2012 chamber series with a program that explores the themes of youth, intimacy and memory with music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, contemporary composer Ingram Marshall and Russian late-Romantic composer Reinhold Gliere. Life Stories will be presented in three concerts taking place at Brooklyn Museum (Saturday April 28, 2012) and The Morgan Library & Museum (Wednesday May 2 and Friday May 4, 2012). (more...)
