The final performance of Manhattan Youth Ballet's spring production, Stories that Dance: Shakespeare and his Legacy, was full of joy. Four story ballets were performed with the young dancers involved in the story telling, rather than just going through the movements.

Red Bull Theater's Revelations Readings kicked off its new season with a gala benefit reading of WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE'S THE TEMPEST, featuring Michael Cerveris as Prospero. Directed by Jesse Berger the cast also included De'Adre Aziza, Gerry Bamman, Clifton Duncan,Angel Desai, Sean Patrick Doyle, Glenn Fleshler, Carman Lacivita, Drew Ledbetter, Matthew Rauch, Jay O. Sanders,Stephen Spinella, Raphael Nash Thompson, Auden Thornton,Michael Urie, Marc Vietor, and more. The Tempest featured original live music by Greg Pliska. It took place for one night only on October 20th at Playwrights Horizons, 416 West 42nd Street, between 9th and 10th Avenues. Red Bull Theater's Revelations Readings will kick off its new season with a gala benefit reading of WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE'S THE TEMPEST, featuring Michael Cerveris as Prospero.
Sean Patrick Doyle, currently appearing as an Angel in the Tony-winning hit musical Kinky Boots, provides the vocals for the title song in The Boxtrolls, a full length stop-motion from Laika and Focus Features, who brought audiences the Oscar-nominated Coraline and ParaNorman. In the song written by Monty Python's Eric Idle with Oscar-winning Atonement composer Dario Marianelli, Doyle voice-matches Academy Award-winner Ben Kingsley as the evil Archibald Snatcher's alter ego, M. Frou Frou. The animated feature topped the UK/Ireland box office when it began it's foreign release across eight markets, and arrives in theaters nationwide on September 26th. The soundtrack, featuring Doyle, is currently available for download on iTunes.
