Long Beach Playhouse's 85th Mainstage Season to Include 'SALESMAN,' 'SUPERSTAR,' 'STARK' & More

The Long Beach Playhouse iwill present its 2014 - 2015 Mainstage season opening September 27. This year's offerings are an exhilarating mix of suspense, comedy and, of course, drama. As always, the works are selected with the audience in mind and with a goal to create a mosaic of plays that entertain and engage the hearts and minds of those who attend. Well-known playwrights including Agatha Christie and Arthur Miller intermingle with contemporary writers like Tom Stoppard and Lynn Nottage to bring an outstanding mix of classic favorites and new works to the Mainstage. This is a season you won't want to miss.

Hedgerow Presents THE 39 STEPS, Now thru 8/17

Summer at Hedgerow Theatre has come to mean it's time for a farce, and this year is no exception. The tradition of sublime silliness continues with The 39 Steps, Patrick Barlow's Tony Award-winning spoof of the Alfred Hitchcock film that was deemed 'absurdly enjoyable' by The New York Times. It opens with a preview tonight, July 10, and runs through August 17.

Hudson Village Theatre to Present THE 39 STEPS, 8/13-24

A perfect end to a perfect summer! From August 13 to 24, Hudson Village Theatre (HVT) presents the Theatre Lac Brome production of the Olivier and Tony Award-winning global hit comedy, The 39 Steps, adapted by Patrick Barlow from the novel by John Buchan and directed by Theatre Lac Brome's Artistic Director, Nicholas Pynes.

At the beginning of Otterbein University's production of THE 39 STEPS, Richard Hannay is desperate for a diversion from the dullness of his life in London. 'I wanted to do something mindless and trivial, so I went to the theater,' says Hannay, the central character in the Christina Kirk directed production. It's a perfect introduction for what is to follow: a show that is equal parts farce, film noir and romantic comedy.

Trustus Theatre announced their 30th Anniversary season to a standing-room crowd at Tapps Arts Center on June 5th, 2014. Managing Director Larry Hembree and Artistic Director Dewey Scott-Wiley revealed the shows coming to the Thigpen Main Stage and Richard and Debbie Cohn Side Door Theatre in the 2014/2015 Season. Theatre Horizon to Wrap Season with THE 39 STEPS, 5/15-6/8

Horizon closes its season with a bit of movie and theatre magic. The final show of the 2013-2014 season will be Patrick Barlow's comedic adaptation of The 39 Steps. This TONY and Drama Desk award winning play runs May 15-June 8. Opening night is Thursday, May 22 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets cost $20-$35. Hudson Village Theatre Announces 2014 Summer Season
