MENOPAUSE THE MUSICAL Comes to Bristol Riverside Theatre, Now thru 9/14

The onset of menopause starts at Bristol Riverside Theatre with the Off-Broadway hit Menopause The Musical, running tonight, September 10-14 for only seven performances. Hailed as a celebration of women and The Change, Menopause The Musical follows four women who meet at a Bloomingdale's lingerie sale with nothing in common but a black lace bra - and memory loss, hot flashes, night sweats, chocolate cravings, not enough sex, too much sex and more! They share their ups and downs in a hilarious musical parody set to classic tunes from the '60s, '70s and '80s.

Performances run Wednesday, September 10 at 2:00 PM and 7:30 PM, Thursday, September 11 at 7:30 PM, Friday, September 12 at 8:00 PM, Saturday, September 13 at 2:00 PM and 8:00 PM, and Sunday, September 14 at 3:00 PM. Written by Jeanie Linders, Menopause The Musical has been an international phenomenon, having been seen by over 11 million people all over the world since it debuted in 2001. "The show has become a point of relating, a celebration of a life passage that launches women into a new exciting phase of their lives," says Linders. "Most people know intuitively what every other woman is facing with the onset of menopause but they may only talk about it with a close friend or two. But sitting in a theater with hundreds of other women, all laughing and shouting 'that's me!', they then know what they are experiencing is normal. It becomes a sisterhood!"

BRT's mainstage season kicks off with Tony Award-winning comedy The 39 Steps adapted by Patrick Barlow (September 30-October 26), Neil Simon's Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning Lost in Yonkers (November 11-November 30), Always...Patsy Cline about the Grammy Award-winning singer (January 27-February 22), the Tony Award-winning musical Ragtime with book by Terrence McNally, music by Stephen Flahery, and lyrics by Lynne Aherns (March 17-April 12), and the timeless drama An Enemy of the People by Henrik Ibsen (May 12-May 31).

Since 1986, BRT has brought consistently acclaimed professional theatre to Bucks County and maintains a long-term commitment to finding and developing new plays. The theatre is the recipient of over 68 Barrymore Award nominations for Excellence in Theatre, given annually by Theatre Philadelphia.
