Following a sold-out run of The Importance of Being Earnest, Seattle Shakespeare Company announced today that it will extend its production of King Lear through May 17 with four additional performances at the Cornish Playhouse. Shakespeare's Henry IV parts 1 and 2 have been adapted into one emotionally packed drama by Daikin Matthews. Artistic Director Stephanie Shine directs Henry IV with David Pichette playing King Henry, Tim Gouran as the playboy prince Hal, and Richard Ziman as the funny and complex Falstaff. With a low-priced preview on October 23, Henry IV opens on Friday, October 24. The production runs through November 16 at the Center House Theatre at Seattle Center.
