Fountain Hills Theater presents its 2013-14 seasons for its three venues, Mainstage, Mainstage Too and Youth Theater.

Today in 2009, 9 to 5 closed at the Marquis Theatre, where it ran for 148 performances. 9 to 5 is a stage musical with music and lyrics by Dolly Parton and a book by Patricia Resnick, based on the 1980 movie Nine to Five. Resnick had co-written the screenplay with Colin Higgins, the director of the film, in which Parton had her first screen role. The musical premiered at Center Theatre Group/Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles in September 2008 and opened on Broadway on April 30, 2009. It was nominated for 15 Drama Desk Awards, the most received by a production in a single year. It was also nominated for four Tony Awards.

Act3 Productions, the award-winning theater company in Sandy Springs, GA has announced its 2013-14 Season. The season will kick off with a special benefit production of A Piece of My Heart by Shirley Lauro. Adaptations of feature films to stage musicals are a dime a dozen these days. However, if you want to get a Texas audience excited really quickly, tell them you're doing a musical based on the 1980 film 9 to 5 and that Dolly Parton has written the music and lyrics for the musical you're doing. You'll see a twinkle in the eye and a seat sold. Add in Patricia Resnick's book based on the film's screenplay, fantastic community talent from the Pearland area, and throw it all together inside a great space, and you've got a production of 9 TO 5: THE MUSICAL that is truly worth seeing.

The next production in Town Hall Arts Center's 2012-2013 Season will be 9 TO 5: The Musical, with music and lyrics by Dolly Parton and book by Patricia Resnick. This musical is directed by Christopher Willard, choreographed by Kelly Kates and has musical direction by Donna Kolpan Debreceni.

The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre's 2013 Season is the year Broadway and Hollywood meet with all of the productions at the theatre being hits both on the silver screen and New York stage. Following its 2013 Season-opener, Steel Magnolias, Way Off Broadway will produce the regional theatre premiere of the musical comedy 9 to 5 beginning March 22nd.

3-D Theatricals' production of 9 to 5: The Musical plays now through February 24th, 2013 at The Plummer Auditorium, followed by a run at Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center, March 1st-3rd.
