Theatre Tallahassee will put on 9 TO 5: THE MUSICAL from August 24- September 10.

It's not surprising that the 1980 film 9 to 5 was turned into a musical, since it's revenge driven farcical plot is a natural fit, and it's a period piece, so it has that going for it as well. Plus, you have Dolly Parton, whose physical attributes sometimes make one forget how great a songwriter she is, providing material written for the show, and adding pieces plucked from her own recordings. It's a great show for a strong and varied female cast, and STAGES' current production doesn't disappoint, with the lead roles filled by outstanding performers. And, one thing is certain, it's a real crowd-pleaser, generating tons of laughs, and a number of memorable moments.

The 67th Music Circus season continues with the hilarious 9 to 5 The Musical, featuring a score by country music legend Dolly Parton. Based on the beloved hit movie, this office place comedy comes to the round stage for the first time in Music Circus history. Performances of 9 to 5 are Tuesday, July 25 through Sunday, July 30th at the Wells Fargo Pavilion.

They live out their wildest fantasy - kidnapping their sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigoted boss! While Hart remains 'otherwise engaged,' the women give their workplace a dream makeover taking control of the company. 

'9 to 5' is Broadhollow at Elmont's latest musical and it is a hoot! Those familiar with the vintage movie and those currently in the working world will certainly enjoy this timeless tale of three secretaries getting revenge on their 'sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot' of a boss. Dolly Parton, who starred in the film along with Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda, created the music and lyrics to accompany the Broadway musical which played a brief run in 2009. A national tour of the show followed as well as several regional theater productions. Now at the Broadhollow, Violet, Judy, and Doralee are back and better than ever!

STAGES St. Louis is thrilled to announce its spectacular 31st Season! San Diego Musical Theatre (SDMT) today announced the cast and creative team for the San Diego regional premiere of 9 to 5: The Musical.

Based on the seminal hit film, 9 to 5 features music and lyrics by Grammy Award-Winner Dolly Parton, book by Patricia Resnick, direction by Cynthia Ferrer and choreography by Tamlyn Shusterman. Performances run February 10 - 26 at the historic Spreckels Theatre. Press opening is Saturday, February 11th at 8:00 p.m.
