Sixth Avenue has announced 'I (Heart)99 The Musical!,' a one-night-only cabaret event to save Los Angeles intimate theatre. Produced by Adam Silver and directed by Daniel Henning, the curtain will go up on Tuesday, March 10 at 8:00 at Akbar in Silver Lake.

Tonight, August 16th, East West Players (EWP), the nation's largest producing organization of Asian American artistic work and the longest-running professional theatre of color in the country, kicks off their Golden 50th Anniversary Season with the first of many planned celebrations with their signature 'one night only' event, featuring the new generation of Asian Pacific musical performers. Fresh Faces, Golden Voices takes place at East West Players. Celebrity Chef Katie Chin (PBS' 'Double Happiness,' 'Iron Chef America') collaborates with Food Fetish Catering on a unique Pan Asian dining experience al fresco, with special desserts donated by Majestic Caterers. Proceeds of One Night Only benefit the artistic/educational programs of East West Players.

Blank Theatre Now Accepting Submissions for 2014 Young Playwrights Festival

The Blank Theatre's Young Playwrights Festival is now seeking submissions nationwide from playwrights 19 years of age and younger. The submission deadline is March 15, 2014. Winning plays will be presented by professional actors and directors in June, 2014 at the Stella Adler Theatre in Hollywood, CA.

TRANSFORMERS RESCUE BOTS Returns to The Hub, 3/1

'Transformers Rescue Bots,' animated series, created especially for younger TRANSFORMERS fans, returns for its second season on Saturday, March 1, with two all-new, back-to-back episodes starting at 1:00 p.m. ET/ 10 a.m. PT, on the Hub Network, a destination for kids and their families. Beginning on Saturday, March 8, new episodes of the show will air at 1:30 p.m. ET/10:30 a.m. PT. The series is produced by Hasbro Studios. In addition, HubNetwork.com will launch a fun-filled new match game called 'Hero Hunt.'

Jeff Bowen Pens Theme Song for SQUAD 85

On November 13 2012, the brand new comedy series from YOMYOMF, "Squad 85" will premiere its pilot episode featuring an original theme written by Jeff Bowen ("Title of Show"). The series, created by Gregory Bonsignore, stars Parvesh Cheena ("Outsourced"), Travis Van Winkle ("Transformers") and a multi-ethnic cast of characters. The series also features guest stars and cameos by Diedrich Bader ("Outsourced"), Danny Pudi ("Community"), RJ Mitte ("Breaking Bad"), Janina Gavankar ("True Blood"), and Rizwan Manji ("Outsourced").

More than 50 actors are set to participate in The Blank Theatre's 20th Anniversary Young Playwrights Festival, including Catherine Hicks (7th Heaven), Laura Silverman (The Sarah Silverman Program), Mackenzie Phillips (American Graffiti, One Day At A Time), Peri Gilpin (Frasier), Josh Randall (Greek, Scrubs, Dusk Rings A Bell at The Blank), Lenny Jacobson (Nurse Jackie, Sukie & Sue: Their Story at The Blank), Zach Roerig (The Vampire Diaries), and Matthew Moy (2 Broke Girls). Twelve winning plays by young playwrights aged 9 -19, from nine different states, will be presented during this year's festival at the Stella Adler Theatre in Hollywood, running from May 31- June 24.
