Arden Theatre Company’s WOMEN IN JEP Receives Developmental Production, Now thru 7/15

Arden Theatre Company presents the inaugural production for The Writers' Room, an innovative playwright residency program, with Women in Jep by Wendy MacLeod. This new comedy, written during a four-month residency in Philadelphia receives a developmental production on the Arden's Arcadia Stage from tonight, July 5 through July 15, 2012. The Writers' Room is funded by The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage through the Philadelphia Cultural Management Initiative and the Independence Foundation through its New Theatre Works Initiative.

Comedy Central has given series orders to three new shows scheduled to join the network's roster in 2013, it was announced today by Kent Alterman, Head of Original Programming and Production, Comedy Central.

Barrington Stage Company, the award-winning regional theatre in downtown Pittsfield, under the leadership of Julianne Boyd, Artistic Director, and Tristan Wilson, Managing Director, has extended the run of the world premiere of Dr. Ruth, All The Way by Mark St. Germain, directed by Julianne Boyd. Starring stage, film and television actress Debra Jo Rupp (That 70s Show), Dr. Ruth, All the Way will now run from June 19 through July 21 at St. Germain Stage (formerly Stage 2) at the Sydelle and Lee Blatt Performing Arts Center, 36 Linden Street, Pittsfield. Opening Night is Saturday, June 30 at 8pm.

HEMINGWAY & GELLHORN recounts one of the greatest romances of the last century, the passionate love affair and tumultous marriage of literary master Ernest Hemigway and the beautiful, trailblazing war correspondent Martha Gellhorn, as it follows the adventurous writers through the Spanish Civil War and beyond. As witnesses to history, they covered all the great conflicts of their time, but the war they couldn't survive was the war between themselves.

Knowing chuckles sputter throughout the audience during the world premiere of Will Eno's THE REALISTIC JONESES at Yale Rep. The story is about everything - and nothing - just like the dialogue, but sooner or later you recognize a character you know, or perhaps yourself, and suddenly the seemingly pointless conversation hits home like it was fired at a bullseye.

Amy Schumer, former Last Comic Standing finalist, has just released Cutting, on Comedy Central Records. It follows her spring 2010 Comedy Central Presents stand up special. She also just filmed a movie with Steve Carell called Seeking a Friend for the End of the World.
