Rubicon Theatre celebrates the holidays with the company's first presentation of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, a World Premiere adaptation written by Producing Artistic Director Karyl Lynn Burns and directed by Brian McDonald. Rubicon's A Christmas Carol features a 24-member cast (the largest ensemble since the company's production of Fiddler on the Roof and the largest ever for a play).

Rubicon Theatre, a not-for-profit professional regional theatre company in Ventura, California, announces its production of WEST SIDE STORY (Book by ARTHUR LAURENTS, Music by LEONARD BERNSTEIN, Lyrics by STEPHEN SONDHEIM), to be performed by the students of the Education Department's MUSICAL THEATRE INTENSIVE, featuring at twenty-one piece orchestra conducted by DANIEL NEWMAN-LESSLER. This production is directed by BRIAN McDONALD, Musical Direction by MIRIAM ARICHEA and choreography is by CAROLANNE MARANO. Set and lights are designed by David King. Production Manager is Jessie Vacchiano, Stage Manager is Jon Stover.

Rubicon's Summer Youth Program presents The Drowsy Chaperone, the Tony Award-winning musical with music and lyrics by Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison based on a book by Bob Martin and Don McKellar. With direction by Brian McDonald, musical direction by Miriam Arichea and choreography by Carolanne Marano, The Drowsy Chaperone features over 25 local youth performers in a production well suited for children, adults and families. Opening today, August 13th and running through Saturday, August 16th, performances of The Drowsy Chaperone begin at 7 p.m. on Wednesday and continue 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Thursday, 8 p.m. on Friday, and 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Saturday.

MCCC Theatre Student Productions Announce New Dates

Fine literature is the theme of the fall season for Theatre and Dance students at Mercer County Community College (MCCC), as students present memorable performances over three weekends in November and December. Shows take place at the Studio Theatre, located next to Kelsey Theatre on the college's West Windsor campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road. Entertainment Technology students will provide lighting and sound for all productions.
