LCT3/Lincoln Center Theater's presentation of STOP HITTING YOURSELF, created by Rude Mechs, the Austin, TX based theater collective, opened last night, January 27. This world premiere features Thomas Graves, Heather Hanna, Joey Hood, Hannah Kenah, Lana Lesley, E. Jason Liebrecht, and Paul Soileau. Commissioned by LCT3, STOP HITTING YOURSELF is written by Kirk Lynn and directed by Shawn Sides and will run through Sunday, February 23 at the Claire Tow Theater (150 West 65th Street). LUCE, STOP HITTING YOURSELF, & More Featured in LCT3's 2013-14 Season

Lincoln Center Theater Producing Artistic Director Andre Bishop and LCT3 Artistic Director Paige Evans have announced a slate of three new works to be produced by LCT3, Lincoln Center Theater's programming initiative devoted to producing the work of new artists and developing new audiences, during the 2013-2014 season. First up will be the world premiere of LUCE, marking the professional debut of playwright JC Lee, directed by May Adrales (Saturday, October 5 through Sunday, November 17 - opening Monday, October 21). LUCE will be followed in January with a second world premiere, STOP HITTING YOURSELF, created by Rude Mechs (Monday, January 13 through Sunday, February 23, 2014 - opening Monday, January 27). The season will conclude with the New York premiere of 2013 Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Ayad Akhtar's new play THE WHO AND THE WHAT, directed by Kimberly Senior (Saturday, May 31 through Sunday, July 13, 2014 - opening Monday, June 16).

Lincoln Center Theater's 4000 MILES Closes

Lincoln Center Theater (under the direction of Andre Bishop, Artistic Director, and Bernard Gersten, Executive Producer) has announced that it will extend the run of its critically acclaimed production of Amy Herzog's 4000 MILES, directed by Daniel Aukin, for a second time, through Sunday, July 1 at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater (150 West 65 Street). The original run of the production was extended through Sunday, June 17 after 4000 MILES opened to critical acclaim in early April.

Lincoln Center Theater (under the direction of Andre Bishop, Artistic Director, and Bernard Gersten, Executive Producer) has announced that it will extend the run of its critically acclaimed production of Amy Herzog's 4000 MILES, directed by Daniel Aukin, through Sunday, June 17 at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater (150 West 65 Street). The production, which features Gabriel Ebert, Greta Lee, Mary Louise Wilson and Zoe Winters, began performances March 15, opened on April 2 and originally scheduled to run through Sunday, May 20, had its world premiere last June as a production of LCT3, Lincoln Center Theater's programming initiative devoted to producing the work of new artists and developing new audiences. Paige Evans is Artistic Director/LCT3.

Eighteen of the theatre industry's highly regarded playwrights, theatrical agents and artistic directors will jury the 40 short plays featured in the 36th Annual SAMUEL FRENCH INC. OFF OFF BROADWAY SHORT PLAY FESTIVAL beginning July 19th at the Lion Theatre on Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street). Six winners will be chosen to have their plays licensed and published by Samuel French, Inc.
