In honor of World AIDS Orphan Day, Broadway stars Donna McKechnie, Mary Beth Peil, Karen Mason, Nicholas Rodriguez, Will Chase, Paige Davis, Chad Kimball, Aaron Lazar, Felicia Finley, Christiane Noll, Robert Petkoff, and the JERSEY BOYS/Chicago company will participate in SING FOR MY SISTER Benefit May 10. The event will take place at 8pm at Christ & Saint Stephen's Church (120 West 69th Street - between Broadway and Columbus). GPR Records, the new CD label specializing in Broadway, classical, spoken word and children's music, is sponsoring a poetry contest that will take place on Twitter, called TwItsPoetic, to celebrate National Poetry Month and the release of their first CD Poetic License: 100 Poems by 100 Performers.

Glen Roven, Peter Fitzgerald, and Richard Cohen recently announced the formation of a new CD label, GPR Records, (www.GPRRecords.com), which will record and distribute Broadway, classical, spoken word, and children's music. GPR aims to surprise listeners with recordings that are both unusual and entertaining. Last night on April 4th, the group presented 'Poetic License: 100 Poems by 100 Performers' at The Bowery in celebration of the release of its first recording. Auditions for The Old Globe's 2010 Summer Shakespeare Intensive will be held on March 13 and 14. The four week program is a unique opportunity for High School actors and actresses to refine their skills as performers in a professional setting.

On Saturday, February 27, Red Bull Theater (Jesse Berger, Artistic Director) opened John Webster's The Duchess of Malfi, directed by Mr. Berger. The production will run for a limited engagement through March 14th only at Theater at St. Clement's.

Last night, February 8, Second Stage Theatre hosted their annual All-Star Bowling Classic Fundraiser at Lucky Strike Lanes and Lounge. For over 20 years, stars of stage and screen have come out to bowl in support of Second Stage's award-winning seasons and to assist the theatre in its fund-raising efforts.
